Overview

A burned-out trauma doctor at a crossroads returns home to help out at a small-town family practice, a coffee shop owner with a second chance at living, is she just what the doctor needs?

Doctor Adam Sinclair is at a crossroads, burned-out and searching, after losing a young patient he felt he should have been able to save. He returns home to Sunset Beach searching for a way out of the dark hole he's found himself sinking into. He agrees to help out at his mentor's small-town family practice, a lot different than the fast-paced trauma units he's used to. He's not sure what life holds for him. But when he moves into a rundown beach cottage he plans to renovate and meets the ray of sunshine that is his new neighbor, his life will never be the same...

Rosie Olsen nearly died and has been given a second chance at living and she is doing that full force. Spreading joy and smiles with her coffee shop and homemade muffins and other pastries, she is on a mission to change lives. But when the good-looking doctor moves in next door to her she spots a chance to help change his life.

She's just not counting on how he will change her life. And make her want things she isn't sure she can handle.

Can love find a way...will they risk their hearts?

I love this author's series Windswept Bay so I knew the Sinclair cousins of Sunset Bay would be just as amazing!!! Adam is trying to come to terms with pain in his past. Rosie is trying to finally live life and her past pain. Her name is so appropriate for her. She makes me smile. Their first meeting is pretty funny. Throw in a matchmaking mom, siblings that want to see these two together and great chemistry - and how can this not be an awesome romance?!!!!! I can't wait for book 2.

Longing for Forever (Sunset Bay Romance Book 1) by Debra Clopton I enjoyed reading this heartwarming story about 2 neighbors who were trying to overcome things from the past. The matchmakers were persistent and had a bit of help from his family. It took a bit of time and then Adam and Rose could see they had liked each from their first visit caused by a pelican. Wonder if that thieving pelican was a matchmaker in disguise?

Oh, this book was such a wonderful romance and a great beginning to a new series! I loved learning about Adam and Rosie’s backstories. It helped me understand what both of them had dealt with over the years. And it made me appreciate their newfound attraction to each other even more. The author did a good job in this novel of introducing Adam’s family members and the people of Sunset Bay. I am looking forward to seeing Adam’s siblings find their happily-ever-afters in future books. This story made me wish I could visit this oceanside community in real life! I received a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions are my own.

Longing for Forever by Debra Clopton Sunset Bay Series Book One Doctor Adam Sinclair had lived his dream. He left the small town of Sunset Bay and had become a trauma doctor. He loved working under pressure and stress. Until Chicago. When something didn't go right, Adam blamed himself. Left. And now, he's back home and trying to decide his next step. Rosie Olsen had a “rosy” outlook on life. Always happy and cheerful and out to cheer others up. Her bakery, Bake My Day, was her place to spread love and joy through coffee, muffins, and other goodies. Life was great. Rosie's sunshine was just what Adam needed in his dark world. Now, he just had to decide if he could stay...or if he was going to leave again. Great story. Looking forward to Adam's siblings’ stories. This Sinclair family are cousins to the Windswept Bay family.
