Overview

Longing for Mexico by Harvey Stanbrough

Longing for Mexico opens with what happened the night ex-Texas Ranger Otis "Mac" McFadden crept out of Amarillo rather than facing up to his friends and his responsibilities. When the captain won't allow Mac's friend, Wes Crowley, also a veteran Texas Ranger, to go after Mac immediately, Wes continues to battle Comanches, falls in love, and loses pretty much everything. He finally decides to leave the Rangers to track down his lifelong friend turned traitor. He must get the answers he deserves. During his search for Mac, Wes visits Mexico where he finds new friends but also a few new enemies. He is joined there by a close new friend from El Paso, Ben Iverson. Ben brings news of Mac's whereabouts and a job proposition for Wes. Come along to see what happens when Wes finally tracks down Mac in the midst of the Arizona Territory.

About the Author

Harvey Stanbrough is an award-winning writer and poet. He’s fond of saying he was born in New Mexico, seasoned in Texas, and baked in Arizona. After 21 years in the US Marine Corps, he managed to sneak up on a BA degree at Eastern New Mexico University in Portales in 1996. Because he is unable to do otherwise, he splits his writing personality among four personas: Gervasio Arrancado writes magic realism; Nicolas Z “Nick” Porter writes spare, descriptive, Hemingway-style fiction; and Eric Stringer writes the fiction of an unapologetic neurotic. Harvey writes whatever they leave to him. You can see their full bios at HEStanbrough.com.
