I loved the early Stephanie Plum books but the last ten or more books have just been lazy writing. Asking $14 for 200 pages (many with just eight sentences per page, wide margins, and double spacing between one-sentence paragraphs) is insulting. Easily 50% of every book is a rehash of who the characters are, which is entirely unnecessary if you've read any of the previous books. And no one starts with book 25 in a series. This book actually had a better premise than the last several books but it was barely developed and the resolution was flat and rushed. Come on, Ms. Evanovich. Have some respect for your loyal readers. The characters are stale. The plots seem like they were borrowed from Creative Writing 101. We are all waiting for Stephanie to pick Joe (probably) or Ranger (an unlikely but more interesting plot choice) but save your money and reserve this and future books at your library. You'll read it in a few hours. Ms. Evanovich stopped earning our money long ago.

I have read the entire Stephanie Plum series, as well as the Wicked series. In the beginning, up to about book #17, they were all a very amusing read. They had me laughing out loud and anticipating what would happen next between Stephanie, Ranger and Morelli. This series was so enticing, that I couldn’t wait for the next book to come out! However, that being said, recently, the last few books in this series, I have found to be quite lacking. There isn’t enough interaction, going on between Stephanie and Ranger and the predicaments that she and Lula find themselves in, just don’t seem to be as “laugh out loud” funny. Both the romantic “trilogy” and their crazy “antics”, played the most important roles in keeping these novels enthralling. Without that, this story line, seems to be be fizzling and has become “lackluster”. I had initially thought it was because the author was spreading herself thin with too many ongoing projects. But I gave her the benefit of the doubt and continued to read this series in hopes that would improve. But unfortunately, that has not happened and it’s very disappointing to me. Janet Evanovich, if you (or someone in your creative dept. staff), are listening to these reviews, please, take note of this. I’m not trying to condemn, just putting in some “constructive criticism”. If you can’t liven up this series, then how about adding a new book to the Wicked series? It’s possible the Plum series has “run it’s course”? But the Wicked story line could allow for more creativity at this point as it is a bit fresher and not so worn out? Maybe it’s time to shift gears? Please do something, otherwise, you may lose a dedicated audience?

Unfortunately, this one didn't grab me from the very beginning. It took till page 100 to get rolling with the usual antics associated with this series. I was laughing and smiling from that point till the end where, in Janet fashion, she leaves us wanting more!!

Disappointed. The characters, men and story are stale. Nothing new. If I was Morelli and Ranger I would ditch Stephanie.

Barely 200 pages a $14.99! Each book 8s barely a short story. I keep hoping for books of the quality of the earlier book. Really sad and nt worth tge money. Boring and a "throwaway".

This latest installment of the Stephanie Plum books was a bit of a let down. I've come to expect cars blowing up, and frequently. I also miss grandma Mazur and her colorful commentary over dinner. There were no funeral viewings with the associated chaos either. For me, it was a bit of a slower read than previous books in the series. At the end of the day though you still get a dose of Ranger and the case is closed... for now.

I really enjoyed reading your first 10 books, but you have failed to develop your main characters. It really frustrated me that every single book starts the exact same way. Don't you think your loyal reader know that Stephanie Plum is a Mindanao person? If you read all of your books than we are not idiots! You need a new intro to your books and you need Stephanie to make more decisions in her life rather than always having her tiptoe around Joe and Ranger. We want emotion in the storyline otherwise it is the same old same old boring characters!!!!

Stephanie plum is back. Loved the Ranger and Moelli interactions. Loved that she brought more of Ranger's men into the story line.

Oh my goodness! Stephanie Plum is at it again. I couldn't help but laugh at the trouble she and Lula were getting into this time. How could anyone destroy a deli simply by working there. I guess it's not hard with this crew. Managers were disappearing and she was trying to find them. Ranger and Morelli were tag teaming to keep Stephanie from disappearing too. In the end all works out, but just when things appear to be back to normal, trouble just might be brewing with Grandma Mazur.
