The author grew up in Newton, N.C., population 5000, during the "Roaring Twenties" and the "Great Depression." After earning his degree in Aeronautical Engineering at age 20, he worked for 37 years at Grumman Aerospace Corp. and had important roles during WW2 and subsequent wars. He also had important roles on the Manned Moon Landing Program and in Advanced Civil Systems. After early retirement, he formed his own small, innovative corporation, retiring again in 1986. He was (and still is) active in various community affairs, sports, music, theater, travel, etc and his family life. In short, he has had a very full life, witnessed or been part of the major changes during the twentieth and early twenty-first centuries, and has recorded some of his most interesting experiences. They should be of interest to all ages, especially those who enjoy easily-read historical and biographical information spiced with a bit of humor.
