Sometimes the most unusual things wash up on the beach, but nothing stranger or more exciting than the cutlass-wielding pirate Kate Cameron finds on her own treasure island.
He was a mystery man...
"Bloody hell!" Morgan "Black Heart" Farrell can't believe the hurricane whisked him from the deck of his galleon straight into the twentieth century--and into the arms of a honey-haired siren. What he does believe is that Kate's tempestuous spirit and emerald eyes could entice him away from a swashbuckling life at sea. But the widow's charms can't erase Black Heart's desperate need to get back to his own time--until he learns he may have brought danger with him from the past. Morgan might be a scoundrel, but he's not about to leave while Kate needs a man to comfort and protect her.
Who swept her off her feet
It's been ages since Kate had a man in her life, and she's pretty much decided she doesn't want another. But the moment Black Heart is thrust into her world, she finds herself falling for the dangerous, sexy looking stranger. By his own admission he's pillaged, plundered, and taken one or two lives. But Kate has a knack for looking beneath the surface and soon realizes that maybe, just maybe, Morgan's heart isn't as black as the history books claim. In fact, he just might be the hero she's looking for.

Meet the Author
USA Today bestselling author Patti Berg started writing in fifth grade. That first writing attempt turned into a play that she and a couple of friends produced as a puppet show for hospitalized children. In seventh grade she fell in love--with Paul McCartney!--and wrote the firsts of many love stories where Patti and Paul walked off into the sunset together. Years later, in 1994, Patti’s dream of becoming a published author came true with the release of her first book, ENCHANTED. Since that time, Patti has had numerous other novels published, many of them landing on the USA Today bestseller list and winning awards.
Patti has been called "one of the best spinners of tales the genre has to offer" by Affaire de Coeur magazine and "an exceptional voice in the field of romantic fiction" by Romantic Times. New York Times bestselling author Victoria Alexander says "Patti Berg simply sizzles!" and the Dallas Morning News calls her books "Excellent!"

After reading so many serious historical romances, I needed a break. I was looking for something with fun, intrigue, and steamy romance....And I got it! This is a really fun book about the famed pirate, Black Heart, who is not what he seems. In the year 1702 he is taking his enemy, Thomas Low, to the queen to be tried for the murder for Black Heart's family. During the journey, a hurricane strikes, and Low is freed. When Black Heart wakes up he is crawling up to the island he buried his sister on years ago and find that things are not what they were when he left. Kate and Casey Cunningham are stranded on an island in the Bermuda Triangle in the year 1998. Kate is a widow whose husband was killed a few years ago, and now she is trying to find buried treasure on the island. Casey, who is 6, is praying for a pirate from God. To her mother's dismay, Casey's prayers are answered. Over the next few weeks, Kate and Casey nurse Black Heart back to health, while he is trying to find a way to get back to 1702 and bring Low to justice. Kate and Black Heart learn a lot about each other, and about love.... ENJOY!!!
I thought this was a good book, it was a little predictable but... it was funny and entertaining for a light enjoyable fantasy read.
After the first couple of chapters, I could almost predict what the story would bring. Sure enough... it wasn't a suprise. I've read much better time-travel romances and I have multiple bookcases to prove it. This is one of those you don't keep to read again.
