Overview

Ian Dennis received his PhD from the University of Toronto, and is now an Associate Professor at the University of Ottawa. He is the author of Nationalism and Desire in Early Historical Fiction (1997) and of articles on Sir Walter Scott, James Fenimore Cooper, Lord Byron, René Girard, and Eric Gans. He is also a novelist with four titles to his credit, his most recent book of fiction being The Emperor's Assassin (2003), a historical murder mystery co-authored under the pseudonym "T. F. Banks." He lives in Ottawa with his wife Marie-José Tienhooven and son Theodore Frederick Dennis.
