Rolf is Lyall's, from book 1, Beta. As much as he loves the pack, he also loves getting away occasionally. He arranges to go to his cabin for a few days before Christmas and is expecting to hunt and sleep. But when he comes across an injured shifter, of the feline variety, he intends to keep her safe from whoever is hunting her. This is a great continuation of the Lori's Pack series!!! We get to see how Lori and Lyall are settling into mated life and how he will run his pack. Will he be inclusive of Rolfs hunted panther mate or will he stand as a wolves only Alpha? It was great to see more of Rolf and to also bring in outside shifters and to broaden the scope of various packs to show that they are not all the happy, contained and controlled packs that we normally see in books. Looking forward to more to come in this series!!!!
After a long break from one of Mrs. Michael's first books she finally returned to tell us more. Many of her readers requested more on Lori's wolf pack and she did not disappoint. Rolf (the beta from book 1) returns to find his mate Mishka. As usual it's not with it's troubles. The story is a nice steamy shorter read.
When Rolf decides to get away for a few days to enjoy some hunting and solitude before celebrating Christmas with the pack, the last thing he expected was to stumble across an injured shifter, Least of all his fated Mate. Mishka, injured and on the run from her father's archaic pack who view her as nothing but a piece of property to be sold to the highest bidder, accepts Rolf's offer of help but when her furious father, along with the man she's being forced to marry track them down, there's a bloody confrontation. Lyall, as Alpha isn't about to leave his Beta to face this alone and the Panthers are about to learn that a wolf and his pack are willing to kill to protect a mate. The confrontation between the packs is exciting, tense and had my heart in my mouth, I was glued to this book waiting to see the outcome. It was great to revisit Lyall, Lori and Rolf and I hope to see more from this pack in the future.
