Who knew first love would be such a pain in the hoo-ha? I had expected all the traditional insecurities that go along with losing the V-card: Will he respect me afterwards? Do I look fat without any clothes on? Can he tell I have no idea what I'm doing? What I didn't expect was a phone call from my doctor, a conversation about cervical cancer, and almost two years of constant doctors' appointments and procedures. Follow me as I navigate the road to recovery-both emotionally and physically-with bad dates, good friends, and some time on my therapist's couch. Welcome to my semi-scandalous life.

I chose to read this book because I know Danielle from way back, but I flew through it in a weekend because it was so much fun. Her writing reflected the way that every girl feels the first time that they meet "him", but never felt sappy or lecture-ish. My favorite thing about Danielle's writing is how she makes the reader feel as if we know her characters, or want to know them, or be really REALLY glad that we DON'T know them. I would definitely recommend this book to my closest girlfriends!

From the moment I picked up Danielle's book I could not put it down. She made me remember what it was like to really be in love for the first time and how much it is a kick in the teeth when you get betrayed. It was good to read someone else had a similar expereince as I did.

I just got my Nook for Christmas and was dying to find one of those books that you can't put down, and along came Losing it. This memoir made me long for my 20's and those raw, first love emotions. I'm 6 months pregnant and home with my very active 2-year-old. I started this novel one evening laying in bed thinking reading something would help me fall asleep. I made sure I didn't check my clock when I no longer could keep my eyes open. I'm sure it was easily 1am, which is a huge feat considering seeing 11pm is practically a miracle. The next day I passed up all my opportunities to check in on my words with friends games, and kept reading while getting lunch ready, cooking dinner, waiting for water to boil and every other free 5-8 minutes that came my way. Very much looking forward to the next. Definitely worth checking out.

If any woman has felt she was "Losing It" than this book is a must read! Ms. Sepulveres takes you through a roller coaster ride through her life with such honesty and grace. I laughed with her and cryed with her, and I want to give a few choice words to that ex-boyfriend! Danielle's triumph over the ups and downs of a relationship, a major health scare, and the loss of a friend and family member screams to all women that if she can do it you can do it too! An inspirational read for women of all ages. Bravo!

Danielle brings the reader along for the ride during a tumultuous period of her life. She tells her story with such stark honesty that this book is a must read for every woman. She is such a talented writer who connects with the reader in the most basic way --- I simply could not put the book down and finished it in one sitting.
