4.5 Stars Losing Kyler is the second title in the Kennedy Boys series. I will be the first to admit that I am generally not a fan of drama and angst filled story lines, but Ms. Davis has done a fabulous job of creating a series, that just draws you in. Losing Kyler is jam packed full of suspense, drama and angst, with strong themes of family, romance and friendship. The first title in this series Finding Kyler, left you hanging with a major cliffhanger, I eagerly anticipated this title to see where the story went next, and I was anything but disappointed. Picking up, right where the first book left off, the revelations and secrets start right from the very beginning. This is an emotion filled read with highs and lows, and twists and turns that keep you thoroughly enthralled and captivated with the story line. I read this book in one sitting unable to put it down as I felt myself drawn further into this angst and drama fueled family. The characters are complex, flawed, dynamic and very well developed with layers upon layers that slowly are revealed. I am not generally a fan of a book told from the sole point of view of one character, in this case the heroine Faye, but I really enjoyed this view point of her complex inner thoughts. Whilst the first book is centered around the budding relationship between Ky and Faye, this book focuses more on the relationship between Faye and her extended family and friends. The interactions and revelations regarding the side characters definitely kept me enthralled. An intriguing book revolving around a taboo relationship that fans of The Royals series, will be drawn to. Overall a captivating read and I look forward to the next installment of this series.

Picking up where Finding Kyler left off, Faye and Kyler are in shock and trying to wrap their minds around the announcement they've just heard. From there the hits just keep coming...in this book you will get taken on a much bigger, faster and more emotional roller coaster than the first book. There will be tears and heartache and joy and relief and answers to questions you didn't even know you had! I had a lot of angry feelings while reading this book too. There is so much going on, and yet it all blends together to create a perfect drama that pulls at your heartstrings and makes you crave more. I'm already itching to get my hands on the 3rd book! Davis' writing is emotional and powerful. She makes you feel as if you are part of the story, you get very invested in the characters she builds. Even the secondary and tertiary characters have such strong background stories and personalities. It's like a real tangible world that you're visiting. If you're a fan of the author, if you're a fan of realistic fiction with powerful and emotional plot lines, if you loved the first book, you will truly enjoy Losing Kyler. *I have voluntarily reviewed this book after receiving an ARC.*

So I planned to read a little of this book, watch a movie and then go to bed at a decent time. Nope. Read this in one sitting. I had such a blast with this one. It was just one messed up thing happening after another. Things would start to improve a little for the characters, and then another bomb would be dropped. It was amazing. I get now why people like soap operas. It was just so much fun. I really want to talk about everything that happened, but spoilers. ***I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary ARC of this book.***

Finding Kyler ended on a serious cliff-hanger. It’s something you come to accept with Siobhan Davis: if you plan to read one of her series, know every book will leave you with countless questions. The wait between Finding Kyler and Losing Kyler was hard, mainly because the final Saven book was thrown in the middle, leaving me all kinds of mixed up as I did waiting of so many different kinds. It was worth it, though. So very worth it. Losing Kyler picks up where Finding Kyler ended. You know that great big bombshell that was dropped – well, we’re thrown straight into the aftermath. Sometimes when such bombshells are dropped at the end of books, authors will jump forward in time when they start the next book in a series – not Siobhan Davis. Siobhan Davis allows us to watch how everything plays out. She throws us into the emotion, giving us all the details we could want. Not that the bombshell dropped at the end of the first book is the only drama we deal with throughout, oh no. The Kennedy Boys books are promising to be the best kind of soap opera. Each time you think nothing more can be added, another twist is thrown in. Honestly, I cannot remember the last time I enjoyed such soap opera dramatics. Everything that can add drama will add drama. Everything that can be twisted will be twisted. Everything wrench that can be thrown into the works will be thrown into the works. It really is like sitting down in the evening to watch the soaps on the television. If I’m being completely honest, I enjoyed the side drama more than I enjoyed the central drama. The Faye and Kyler drama is a lot of fun, but I find myself enjoying the other Kennedy boys more. Due to this, I’m so glad Siobhan Davis has decided to give the other boys their stories. I cannot wait to jump into them, as they promise to be wonderful if the drama we see throughout this book is anything to go by. Now whilst I enjoyed the side drama more than the Faye and Kyler drama, I will admit to it being important to the overall story. Siobhan Davis does a wonderful job of bringing everything together, and I’m curious to find out the exact links between the events. Some things are fairly obvious, whereas others have me completely unsure as to what we can expect next. Speaking of things being obvious and others being a massive mystery, I feel as though certain events throughout this book were overly obvious. More darkness was added to the community, and it seemed to come out of nowhere, yet it was clear who was involved with said darkness. I feel as though this was more so a case of me reading far too many crime novels, though. I tend to pick up on such things far too quickly, which can sometimes leave me getting ahead of twists and turns when a story is not a crime novel yet involves such aspects. Moreover, I’m accustomed to adult crime novels and the uncertainty added in this one is more in line with the young adult level of crime mystery. It works well with the storyline, but if you’re a crime aficionado the shock factor isn’t quite what it should be.

****Review originally publish under Wit & Wonder Books**** Addicting. Riveting. Compelling story. Gut wrenching emotions that had me at every turn within Siobhan Davis’s Losing Kyler. The second book in The Kennedy Boys series, Siobhan will have you immersed within the continuation of Kyler, Faye and the rest of the Kennedy Dynasty drama for hours upon end. Losing Kyler is not a standalone and you must come to know the Kennedy family in Finding Kyler to begin this emotional and angsty journey. All the key players are back again; wrecking havoc within their small town. Within this continuation, the fight of attraction and love between Kyler and Faye is tested, plus answers are finally sought after for all the questions that were lingering in the first book. “Logic and rationality don’t come into it where the heart is concerned. Once the heart has laid claim there is no going back. And I am locked in a world of pain because of it.” Too many secrets are kept within the walls of the Kennedy house and Faye Donovan is unlocking them one by one. This family has been suffering enough, when will enough be enough? I absolutely loved this book and it seems that each book digs deeper and deeper within the shadows that lurk within the family. Siobhan is an excellent author. Her writing is superb, having all the words, chapters flow continuously not realizing the end is upon us and now I am reaching for the third book. Kyler and Faye are truly tested and we see Kyler back to his old ways, but the strong, feisty Faye knows it’s truly not his fault for his actions. Faye is so strong, not just for herself (even though she breaks a little, which was nice to see some weakness) but for her cousins. Kyler is always there every step of the way, with his love and protection. We are shown sweetness in places that will have you melting, angry situations that will want to punch a character and love that knows no bounds. “Losing Kyler is not an option I’m prepared to accept.” 5 Immaculate Stars

*I read a complimentary advance copy of this book which I have voluntarily reviewed. These comments are my own and have not been influenced by anyone else. See this at my blog at www.soaringuphigh.com When I read Loving Kalvin, I was very excited about this book. However, I have got to say that it pains me to say this, but I was honestly kind of disappointed. I love/hated Kalvin and Lana. Both of them are deeply in love. I like that about their relationship. The reality of loving someone at such a young age can have consquences and it makes sense. But what really bothered me was that I felt both of them were very stubborn. Too stubborn it is. The entire secret that was hinted in the beginning got me excited. However, once I started reading it, I just felt it in gut that I knew what it was. The entire predictability of the novel really just threw me of. It was like reading a new adult novel with the same angst and drama thrown in with characters way too blind. :( Also, Lana annoyed me at times. I knew where she was coming for but sometimes I wished she just manned up and said what she had to say. Being secretive just got me on her nerves. The lies and stuff just made me feel sorry for Kavlin. The really high point of the story is Kalvin’s swoony actions. But at the same time, I don’t know. Overall, I really loved the writing of the book. But my heart just pains and feels with guilt to say that I was honesty disappointed at points. Because I finished this book and I really loved the writing I will give it 3 stars.

I'm really loving this series! Siobhan Davis has the ability to keep me reading from beginning to end, I started the book and didn't stop till I finished! Normally, there's some things in this book that aren't usually for me when I choose a book, but Siobhan Davis' writing is just so involving and real that the true heart and soul of the book shines through! This is the 2nd book in this series, so you'll definitely want to read the first book, since this book picks up right where the first book ended. This review may have slight spoilers for book 1. So, at the end of the first book, there is a big cliffhanger that has left Faye and Kyler reeling! Faye and Kyler are devastated hearing this news, and the budding relationship between the 2 takes a major hit with this news; which is to be expected under the circumstances! And on top of that, they have to deal with the rape charges against Kal, Brad's feelings for Faye, and that skeeze Addison, who Kyler may not be quite finished with, and if that weren't enough there's a murder mystery to boot! All of these crazy things lead to some major Draaammma and a whole lotta awesome! Most of the characters get on my nerves at times; even Faye due to a certain stupid party incident, but that just makes them more real to me because of their flaws. I will say some of these characters need to keep it in their pants! That would cause a lot less problems! The romance is definitely heartfelt and deep, and I could feel the intense emotions in Siobhan Davis' words. Faye and Kyler have a lot to deal with, and the secrets keep on coming! I'm so sad that I'm going to have to wait now for the next book because I want it now! (ala Veruca Salt of Willy Wonka fame) So, in conclusion, if you want some craziness, angst, drama, and some raw emotion then read this book! Siobhan Davis has done it again! Love all of her books!!

I love Siobhan's fantasy/dystopian novels the best. Actually, I always tend to drift towards novels that are in some way not in my world- dystopian, fantasy, historical, etc. I'm just not big into contemporary fiction. That being said, I did like the first book in this series, because it was written by Siobhan, and I really like her writing. But, in the first book I didn't love the hero, and with it not being in my normal wheelhouse, I liked it but I wasn't, "OH MY GOD!" about it- and that's okay. But, I'm definitely saying "OH MY GOD!" over book 2, Losing Kyler. It is jam-packed full of twist, turns, and revelations. Some of them I guessed but most threw me for a complete loop! (I like that the best, when I manage to guess one or two- not because it's obvious, but because my intuition was working its mojo, but most of them completely surprise me.) I liked Kyler a lot better in this book. I was tied in knots about so many of the situations. Siobhan gets to keep her Cliffhanger Queen title, yup she's done it again! (It's pretty much a given at this point, right? ;-) So much happens towards the end of this book, too. I was reading the last 18% or so while my toddler was supposed to be napping. He just didn't end up falling asleep despite trying, and of course, when we realized we couldn't try any longer, I had 2% left in the book. It killed me that I had to wait about an hour or so to wait and finish it! I can't wait for Book 3! I was lucky enough to beta read this.

“I’m beginning to believe there’s some truth to this notion of a Kennedy curse. Happiness seems to evade this family, and they appear destined to career from one tragedy to another.” That quote perfectly sums up the entire book. I promise that you will not be sorry for continuing the series. The best way for me to describe Losing Kyler is to call it a soap opera minus the bad writing and horrid acting. You think you have reached the max in the drama department, but then Siobhan throws more into the mix, and you find yourself staying up way too late just to see what happens next. What I loved most about Losing Kyler are the scenes featuring Kal, Keaton, and Brad. The in-depth look into their characters makes me anticipate their own books even more! James is the most perfectly imperfect man in the world, and I hope all the other readers enjoy his character as much as I do. He is by far my favorite book dad; I can’t wait to see what Siobhan has in store for him in Keeping Kyler. The ending isn’t what I would consider a major cliffhanger, but it is intense and wonderfully done. I can’t wait to see where the story goes next. I strongly suggest reading Siobhan’s other books if you haven’t already as well as joining her email list and following her on social media; she is the best! I absolutely loved the following quotes and hope they encourage you to buy this book! “I don’t fit in anywhere. The one place I had begun to think of as home is now the last place I wish to be.” “This is why I spent so long fighting my feelings for you. You don’t belong in my world. You’re too good for it. For me. I thought I was ready to be who you needed me to be, but I fell at the first hurdle.” “I didn’t think my heart could hurt any more, but I was wrong. My heart is rupturing in my chest. Splitting wide open like someone has cleaved it in two.” I received a copy of this book and volunteered to review it.

“I love you,” he whispers in that hypnotic voice I adore. “It can’t be wrong. It just can’t be. Not when it feels like this.” When I read Finding Kyler, I felt that it was easily going to be the best book I'll have read in 2017. But then I read Losing Kyler, and I was proved so wrong. Holy cow! This book was amazing, it had it all and more! Finding Kyler ended with a major cliffhanger...I mean MAJOR!!! When I started reading Losing Kyler it picked right up where that cliffhanger left off and wow...talk about taking off at the starting gate!!! This book had plenty of angst, lots of twists and turns and even a few "What you talkin' about Willis?" moments!! I was taken by surprise a few times. Through all the Kennedy "craziness" it was very touching to see Faye become so close to the family and making them her home. I'm being very careful not to say too much, even though I want to tell you ALL about it. But you need to be able to enjoy the book the way I did, going into it knowing nothing. But I will say this, if you enjoyed Finding Kyler, you are going to LOVE this!!! If you haven't read Finding Kyler, what the heck are you waiting for?!!! Go read it now!!! "Losing Kyler is not an option I’m prepared to accept."

Losing Kyler is an addictive read filled with drama, secrets and revelations. I had a hard time putting it down as I wanted to keep reading and wanted to know what would happen next. There's a lot going on in this book for all characters. Things get shaken up, secrets come to light, things get even more complicated and every time you think you know what's going on, there's something new to shake it up. It was an amazing read and by the time I finished this book I wished I could jump straight into book 3, but that isn't out yet sadly. There's a lot of drama in this book, but it's the well done type of drama in my opinion. It makes me want to keep reading and see how everything turns out. The romance between Faye and Ky is well done, even with all the complications. I really wondered how they were going to get through this as there's a lot going on. We also get a feel for the other Kennedy boys and there are some plot lines that focus on them as well. I hope they all get their own story! I would recommend this series if you're looking for a good drama filled contemporary romance with secrets, lies and revelations. I received a free copy from the author and voluntarily reviewed it

If you love a book with plenty of twists, turns, drama, angst and romance this one is for you. It starts right back up after the cliffhanger that was in Finding Kyler. There are so many times that my heart strings were pulled and even a time that I teared up. Siobhan creates this world with characters that you would think could walk into your door the next minute. I never thought I could hate a character as much as I hate Addison. I keep thinking of all the different scenarios that could make her as mean as she is, but with this author it is IMPOSSIBLE to know where things will go she always keeps me on my toes. I received a free copy of this book and volunteered to review it.
