Both a story of adventure and perseverance, this book captures a moment in time when Captain Jack was lost at sea. His true experience and insight he obtained while floating on the open ocean sets an inspiring and interesting tone. What would be an insurmountable challenge for most people, Captain Jack's resolve to survive turns it into a tale that proves to be both educational and full of wisdom. This book offers tidbits of information about how to handle life's most difficult problems as well as it proves to be a manual for bringing out our inner strengths when presented with unfathomable difficulty. I recommend this book to people who enjoy adventure and drama as well as those who appreciate the strength of the human spirit.

What an emotional story! I was reading this and I couldn't put it down because I wanted to know whether or not he ever got out of the middle of the Pacific! To think the author was stranded like that gave me a cold chill down my spine. When I was on a ship in the middle of the Atlantic another boat radioed that a crewman had fell overboard and everyone on the ship I was on had to go up top and look to see if we could see anyone in the distance. I will never forgot how cold, dark, and utterly scary it was to think a man could just be floating out there. I always thought, "I wonder what is going through his head as he is out there helpless." Well, now I know. Cool story.
