About the Author

In the fourth grade, I wrote a short story for English class. It was a tale about a student that discovered his teacher was an alien, for which he [spoiler] killed her at the end.

My English teacher liked it (once I told her it wasn't based on her) and my fellow classmates enjoyed it, too. One kid even gave me a roll of Bubblicious bubble gum as a token of his appreciation... a whole roll!

I'd found my calling at an early age, something I loved doing more than anything else. Then I proceeded to not write another word of fiction for nineteen years.

I couldn't tell you why I stopped writing. School, sports, and friends must have gotten in the way. But one day in late 2012, I thought about my childhood and the time I wrote that short story. I had an idea for what I thought would be a good book swirling around in my head for months. One about a guy that woke up and everyone on Earth disappeared. I didn't have the first clue how to write or what would happen in the story, but I began typing words on the screen just as a fun experiment, and before I knew it, I'd completed my first novel.

Now, I've completed a few books, with many more on the way. If you'd like occasional updates of my upcoming works, please sign up for my email newsletter at RyanWiley.com.

Thanks,
Ryan Wiley :-)
