I was so pleasantly surprised!! I am usually disappointed in the tenor that local writers take describing Oregon and its beauty - but the author took a familiar and inviting tone, painting a picture without treating the reader like a child and over-illustrating. Oh, and the plot was captivating as well!! I was surprised that the story didn't end on the last page (there is a sequel ), but am definitely eagerly awaiting the continuation of this beautifully relatable story and its believably flawed characters!

Megan Carr must have spent countless hours, days and trips over here in Sisters Oregon, Black Butte, and the surrounding area. She writes with such clarity and detail I could see the story in my mind. As I sit here at the pool and look up, sure enough, there is a tower at the top just as she says. The characters, writing style and detail make you fall in love with them and their lives. This first book is a real nail biter. You won’t be able to stop reading it. Fortunately book 2 Lost and Found, is done so you won’t have the wait as we all did on pins and needles. (Adult Fiction) Because her writing style is so vivid, just close your eyes and skip a few pages ahead if you are modest. There are a couple love scenes and I personally am not a fan of graphic love scenes. But the balance of fast paced adventure, suspense, and all over greatness for the Pacific NW scenery and lifestyle, you will need to read it anyway. Just divert your eyes, and skip a couple pages ahead if necessary.
