About the Author

BETHANY CLAIRE is a USA Today bestselling author of swoon-worthy, Scottish romance and time travel novels. Bethany loves to immerse her readers in worlds filled with lush landscapes, hunky Scots, lots of magic, and happy endings.

She has two ornery fur-babies, plays the piano every day, and loves Disney and yoga pants more than any twenty-something really should. She is most creative after a good night’s sleep and the perfect cup of tea. When not writing, Bethany travels as much as she possibly can, and she never leaves home without a good book to keep her company.

I enjoyed the book. The story line was good. I could have done without the explicit sex scenes. I think Authors should leave more to the imagination in those.

This was a really great read. And i totally disagree with one of the other reviewers about this book having too many sexual parts. Totally not true. It has a couple of sex scenes that were pretty mild in my opinion. I love books about scotland an time traveling. Just an overall good read. Cant wait to read the next book.

It's clearly a take from Outlander, however it's still a delightful read. There are enough differences to keep you wanting more. I loved the characters, I laughed and cried with with.

Reviewed by Michelle Robertson for Readers' Favorite Love Beyond Time (Morna's Legacy Series) Book 1 of Morna's Legacy is written by Bethany Claire. The multiple genre series gives readers a chance to explore time travel, historical Scotland, magic, as well as love and betrayal. A career oriented, non-social kindergarten teacher from Texas takes some time off from teaching to accompany her mother, an archaeologist, to a historical castle ruins dig site in Scotland. Little did they both know that they would gain more knowledge than they could ever have dreamed of about the castle's past occupants when they find a secret room within the basement of the ruins.  As a romance novel reader, one expects each book to transform them into the characters they are reading about. Bethany Claire does just that, as she writes a very vivid and detailed plot, with a natural connection of characters. Readers can expect well-researched knowledge of the 1600s lifestyle and mannerisms of a Scottish Royals and commoners. The author also enables readers to understand the social actions, proper dress, diet, language, morals, and duties of those living in a Scottish clan castle.   Bethany Claire has brought readers the ultimate romantic fantasy in this time traveling romance filled with adventure, excitement, love, drama, and broken hearts. The characters and scenes within each chapter are filled with so much vividness that the reader is unable to put the book down. Love Beyond Time is a book I would recommend for lovers of romance, science fiction, and historical fiction.

I love historical novels AND time travel novels. What I liked about this one is that there is romance and some spicy parts, but it doesn't dwell on it. A quick and fun read for anyone who loves romance, love, historical novels, and time travel. ENJOY

The cover of this book caught my eye, and I'm so glad it. I love Scottish romances, so I was anxious to see what this had to offer. I was not disappointed. The story started with Bri Montgomery, a Texas kindergarten teacher who is settled into her life but craves adventure and romance. Her mother is an archaeologist studying Conall Castle in Scotland and a terrible tragedy that happened there centuries before. Her mom convinces her to travel to Scotland to help her with research, and she ends up being transported back to the castle during the time just before the terrible tragedy. The way this author makes the whole time-travel premise believable and weaves in romance, sexy Scottish men, humor, and suspense kept me reading. There was an interesting method used in this book. Bri's story was in first person, but the rest of the story was in third person. Usually that is very hard to understand, but it was done seamlessly, and I found that it helped me to immerse myself in her story very effectively. I plan to read the next book in this series, and I hope there are more to follow after that.

Another favorite! This is a new author for me and I'm really thrilled with the book. It was simply and didn't get too crazy with details. We know Bri and Blaire are switched, but there's no details on the Lairds aunt and how she knew the castle was going to be destroyed. Simple, sweet love story that goes beyond time.

LOVED this book. A time travel romance with so much drama, you won't be able to put it down. I actually got up at 1:30am to continue reading because I wanted to know what happened next. This book has it all: valiant knights of the 17th century, time travel from modern day back, true love blooming with each chapter read.... awesome read! On to her next book!!!

You had me with time travel aspect, but when you throw in Highlanders, I'm likely to enjoy the book. I was not disappointed in this one. Well written and keeps you figuratively turning the pages.

A Love Crossing Over Time I started this novel and found myself trapped, unable to put the book down until I finished it. I was charmed by the story of a young woman helping her mother on a dig at the 17th century era ruins of a Scottish castle who finds herself abruptly exchanging places 400 years previously with the woman (who looks exactly like her) who is about to reluctantly marry the young laird of the castle. The time travel works through a spell and Bri's appearance is even expected by an old maid of the previous laird and Bri's presence is expected to help prevent the eminent destruction of the castle and its inhabitants by treachery. Meanwhile her counterpart, Blaire is happy to escape a doomed romance of her own and find a time where women have control of their own lives. The growing love between Bri and her sudden husband is delightful as they work together to save the castle, lands and its people while struggling with the prospect of Bri returning to the future. All the characters are well developed and the plot plays out leaving you guessing to the end how the storylines will be resolved. If you like historical romance with a twist don't miss out on this book. I was excited to learn this is the first of three books as well as a novella and can't wait to jump back into Bethany Claire's world! I received this book in exchange for a fair and honest review.Myrt

Bri and her mother are on an archeological dig in Scotland, digging in the ruins of Conal Castle. The castle was destroyed in 1645 and Clan Conal disappeared, presumably wiped out in whatever calamity took the castle. Historians have no clue as to what happened to the castle, nor to what happened to Clan Conal, not to who was responsible. As they pore over books in a previously undiscovered basement room, Bri finds a portrait of a woman who looks exactly like she does. As she begins to read the words that are printed around the portrait, she finds herself slipping though time to 1645, exchanging places with Blair, a young woman who is about to be married to the new laird of Clan Conal, the old laird having recently died. Bri - everyone believes her to be Blair - finds herself marrying the laird. Blair finds herself adjusting to life in the twenty first century. As calamity draws near, both Bri and Blair discover that the spell can be reversed, but the reversal spell requires them to have possession of the old laird’s ring. Both can return to their previous lives, if only they could find the ring, if only Bri were not falling in love, if only Blair wanted to return to her own time, if only…. The trickiest parts of a time slip novel are the mechanism by which the characters travel through time and the manner in which the difficulties which inevitably follow time travel are resolved. Both are handled quite well in Love Beyond Time. The story captured me and I read it in just a couple of sittings. I could have read it straight through, but, while I was anxious to know what would happen, I did not want the story to end! The writing was excellent, the characters were lovable, and the story was interesting. As I drew near the end of the story, I entertained several possible conclusions, but the author does not tip her hand, holding the reader in suspense.

This novel lacked suspense and depth. The writer clearly doesn't know how to pull the reader in. It also was a Outlander wannabe but a major fail. Only reason I read it is because it was free.

I really enjoyed reading this book and loved the main character, Bri - especially her experiences in adapting to life in Scotland in the seventeenth century. Bethany Claire did a great job setting up the "world" in which her stories take place, and the magic behind it all. One thing I will say, is that the romance in this book is not for the faint of heart. If you prefer a sweeter, more "PG" version, there is another version of this book called Morna's Spell, also by Claire. Overall though, I would recommend this book to any fan of time travel romance, and can't wait to read the rest of the series.
