Love Blooms on Main Street is the 4th book in the Briar Creek series by Olivia Miles, but can also be read as a stand-alone book as previous characters are explained so you will not miss a beat! Since I started reading the Briar Creek series, I have always looked forward to returning to the lovable and quaint Vermont town, it's alpha heroes, and admirable heroines I've come to adore - Love Blooms on Main Street continued with all those feel good qualities and MORE! First I just want to say that I truly envy anyone reading a Briar Creek book for the first time - seriously, the magical feelings the town evokes, the whimsy, the romance, it all comes together making you truly satisfied as love conquers all! I simply do not know how Olivia Miles delivers this each time, with each book, but she does! In Autumn you'll feel an aura of pumpkins and leaves, in Winter you'll feel snowy coziness and Christmas, and in Spring and Summer you'll feel flowers and sun. In addition, you'll find humor, friendship, sexiness, and a whole lot of heart! Love Blooms showcases Ivy Birch, florist at Petals on Main, and Brett Hastings, emergency room doctor/elusive Hastings brother that returns to Briar Creek after being away for some time. Ivy desires to find love and happiness like some of her friends who have settled down, but nevertheless, she has her booming business and her friends and that's enough. But when the one man she wants - one who stirred her inner desires with a kiss and then disappeared, one she believes she can never have - comes sashaying back into town, she is faced with one very undeniable fact - Brett is not gone from her mind, and neither is the memory of their kiss - even if his ego seems a bit over the top for her tastes! Her inner dialogue with regard to Brett is so witty and cute, I loved it! Brett left Briar Creek to receive his education and become a doctor at a time when his family may have needed him most, a guilty reminder he cannot shake. Fast forward, he returns to his hometown on a temporary plan to take a breather from busy city hospital work. He pushes himself in his career, which aids him in relinquishing some of the guilt he feels for being in school when his Mother was sick - only no matter how hard he pushes himself, those melancholy feelings never truly go away, and being back in BC brings it all front and center for him. Brett is convinced that he's not the settling down type, that his dedication to work is what his life is always going to be all about - but one beautiful florist just happens to invade his most inner thoughts ever since their kiss, and every time he spends time with her he can't help but feel "more." Will love bloom for Ivy and Brett? They've certainly got a fan club in their friends and family - Grace, Luke, Anna, Mark, Jane, Henry, Kara, Rosemary and Sharon. Happy Reading and enjoy the feel good romantic story that this Briar Creek book has to offer!

This is the the first time I've read Olivia Miles and I liked her writing style so much that I will continue reading her work. The book is based in a small town with little to no angst and the characters and secondary characters are memorable with a HEA. Ivy Birch is a florist in a small town and her memory of a kiss with a sexy ER doctor at her best friend's wedding is consuming all of her time and interrupting her work. Ivy has a condition known as diabetes that she has kept secret from everyone, she is at the hospital for a check-up when she has a run in with Dr. Brett Hastings, her sexy ER doctor. It's been 6 long months with no contact and now he is back in town.... Dr. Brett Hastings has returned to his small hometown for a interview at the local hospital when he runs into Ivy. He cannot let her distract him from his work or much less get involved when he plans on leaving town again. A hospital fundraiser throws the two together, they enjoy each others company, share secrets, and become involved. But Love? It cannot happen for Brett, he doesn't want to hurt her and has tried to keep her at a distance but Ivy's personalty draws him in and soon she will have his heart blooming with Love as well!

Sometimes you just need a sweet romance novel to escape into. And this one was perfect! Love Blooms on Main Street is book #4 in the Briar Creek series. Although I have not read the previous novels, I never felt like I was missing anything. The author gave a well written story with enough background info on the characters. With that said, now I want to go back and read the first three to get and know more of the town! The setting is a small town where everyone knows each other and the two main characters grew up together. Ivy owns a florist shop. I love flowers and the description of her shop made me wish I could visit! Brett is a doctor who has moved back to town to work at the local hospital. You will feel the attraction, sparks, conflict, and love between the two of them. If you love a good romance series, be sure and try this one. I would recommend it! * I was provided a copy by the publisher and NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

a wonderful romance. a man driven to prove his worth to himself, a woman that loves him but doesn't know what he wants. it seems impossible for them to get together, but, well romance wins out. love this series. i've read every story, and not been disappointed at all. great reads!!

I have been a fan of Olivia Miles Briar Creek books from the start, the latest, Love Blooms on Main Street is no exception. Each book in the series has taken on a serious subject and this one is no exception. This installment takes on the very serious subject of diabetes and how one manages a chronic condition over time. The heroine doesn’t want to be treated differently so she hides her condition from everyone, thus reducing her support system when things go wrong. The hero also has baggage of his own, namely guilt over staying away from home when his mom was battling cancer. Each of these life experiences color the romance and give the Ivy and Brett something to work through as a team. The HEA is that much sweeter because is actually hard earned. Those that haven’t started this series will find they aren’t missing anything with this installment. Those that have been here from the beginning will enjoy the glimpses of the other characters from previous books. If you are looking for a sweet romance with lots of heart this book is a perfect choice. Copy received from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

3.5 stars I loved Ivy when I saw her in the previous book, so I was so excited she got her own story. I loved getting to see more of her. Ivy is strong and resilient and I love that she doesn't back down from going after what she wants. Brett is a bit withdrawn due to his job, but it makes sense. And even better, it makes for some awesome tension. There was a bit more of the push and pull than I was hoping for and definitely not enough sweetness. The blow up and break up didn't last too long and even though the epilogue was near perfection, I would have loved to see more scenes of Ivy and Brett together. Overall, a quick, cute read that was a great addition to the series. **Huge thanks to Forever and NetGalley for providing the arc in exchange for an honest review**

I'm somewhat standoffish anytime a story centers around doctors. My brain is not built for the medical jargon spewed in many such stories. Ms. Miles didn't go overboard with medical speak. Instead she created a romance that I liked a lot. The town of Briar Creek is your standard small town. Gossips, a family atmosphere and not very much drama. Perfect for an afternoon chance to unwind. Ivy is a firecracker. She speaks her mind and lives by her own rules. Brett has a fast paced career that keeps him busy and stressed. A match headed for trouble. Love Blooms On Main Street has the sweetness I look for in my small town reads.
