Serena B. Miller in her new book,  “Love Finds You in Sugarcreek, Ohio” published by Summerside Press takes us to Sugarcreek, Ohio and into the life of Rachel Troyer. From the back cover:  Love finds you A mysterious outsider casts a long shadow on Ohio’s Amish country. Policewoman Rachel Troyer has always looked after her three elderly Amish aunts, proprietors of a farmhouse inn near Sugarcreek, Ohio. The idyllic town is popular with tourists, who come to sample its famous Amish goods. But one thing is clear to Rachel – Joe Matthews is no tourist. When the bearded stranger lands on her aunts’ doorstep, begging shelter for himself and his young son, Rachel is suspicious. Will she be able to uncover Joe’s secrets despite her aunts’ – and her own – growing affection for him? Let me start off by saying that I sincerely hope that Ms. Miller has a sequel to this story cooking in the pipes somewhere.  This story is absolutely terrific! Sugarcreek, Ohio seems like a really nice place to hang out in with the people to meet and the places to see.  Rachel Troyer is the kind of cop you always want around and to be friends with.  Joe Matthews is a mystery and Rachel doesn’t trust him.  Then there is a murder and a killer to catch.  On top of that there is the romance.  “Love Finds You in Sugarcreek, Ohio” is great fun to read.  Ms. Miller has a great way of telling the story and moving it along at a nice pace.  Her characters are wonderful and she give them life and unique voices.  All this and Sugarcreek, Ohio also.  A really enjoyable read. "Giving to others is a joy to the giver." ~Eli Rachel Troyer is a policewoman who lives in the Englisch world but who also has Amish roots. She has three Amish aunts, Bertha, Lydia and Anna, that she longs to protect and take care of but lately she feels as if she is fighting a losing battle. Her aunts own and operate the Sugar Haus Inn but with their advanced age Rachel wants them to retire. Bertha finds this extremely hard and refuses to turn anyone away because she lives by Hebrews 13:2 which says that we should entertain strangers because we might be entertaining angels unawares. And she refuses to turn away one of God's angels. When Joe Matthews and his little boy show up on their doorstep, they provide them food and shelter in exchange for Joe working around their farm. Rachel, however, has no qualms about making it plain that she is keeping an eye on him. She knows he is running from something and she won't rest until she finds out what haunts his past. But, Joe only wants to live a quite life that allows Bobby to be the little boy he is. Can they start fresh in this quite little community? And, can both Joe and Rachel keep their hearts out of the equation? While this book is considered Amish fiction it's not strictly about the Amish. Most stories about the Amish has an Englischer or two sprinkle into the mix. This story, however, is a full blown mixture of the two. The two main characters are Englishers, along with several other characters, and there are only four Amish characters in total--Rachel's three aunts and their cousin, Eli. Still this book "feels" Amish. It's amazing to me how the two halves can be blended as a whole so seamlessly but Mrs. Miller manages to do just that. Neither side of the story overtakes the other and it makes for one complete, compelling storyline. It contains a beautiful, budding romance and just a tad bit of mystery. I loved it so much I didn't want to put it down. I had to see how it ended and I wasn't disappointed. One of the things that I felt really added to the story was Anna's character. She was fifty-three-years-old and had Down Syndrome. Although I loved all of the characters, she was my favorite. She possessed a gentle, child-like spirit but she was also a very wise woman. I loved that she always snuck up behind people and said "Boo!" while waiting for their frightened reaction. Anna gently touched Rachel's face. In one of her surprisingly insightful moments, she gazed at her with understanding and sympathy. "You are 'fraid for us?" A lump rose in Rachel's throat. "Very afraid." "'Cause you leeva us?" Anna said. "Yes, because I love you." That scene really tugged at my heart strings. But that's not the only part of the book that made me stop and gather my emotions. It's full of smiles and laughter, heartwarming moments and tragedy. The characters are the kind that you will love to revisit and long to read more about and the love of the community really comes through on every page. I am so glad I read this book. Serena B. Miller is a new author for me but not after reading this book. It was an excellent start to a beautiful new friendship. One I am looking forward to exploring whole-heartedly. I highly recommend this book, not only to Amish fiction fans, but to fans of contemporary romance as well! Disclaimer: I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher for my honest opinion and I received no monetary compensation.

What happens when Criminal Minds falls into the land of the Amish living in Sugarcreek, Ohio? We have the makings of an exceptional novel in the Love Finds You Series, this time from best-selling author Serena B. Miller. Joe Matthews is tired of running and hiding with his young son, Bobby. Now that his truck has broken down in the small Amish community of Sugarcreek, Ohio, Joe just needs to find a way to make enough money to pay for the repairs to his truck and get back on the road. It would have not been an issue, had someone not stolen his wallet, along with all his credit cards and cash. There is no way he can call anyone right now to have those items replaced because then people would know where he is, and for now, that is not an option. Police officer Rachel Troyer has always tried to maintain peace and order in their small Amish town, and now in the midst of the Swiss Festival, she knows tourists from all over will be descending on them for the next week and she can only hope nothing will go wrong this year. It's not the Amish she has to contend with or even the tourists but the Amish teens who are in their Rumspringa period of running around that has caused her concern. Not to mention her three aging aunts whom she has tried in vain to talk out of running their Inn and take some time to retire. She can't imagine if something were to happen to one of them in the midst of this time, where she will be putting all her efforts. She just never imagined a strange man and his young boy would be the next guests needing a place to stay. Rachel can trust her instincts enough to know that Joe is hiding something, but she can't figure out what. Her aunts are only too willing to lend them a place to stay and food to eat in exchange for some work that needs to be done on the Inn and surrounding land. But Joe hopes this will only be long enough to pay for the repairs on his truck before he will be on his way. Something that pleases Rachel more than she is willing to admit, however Bobby has had enough of being on the road and just wants a place to call home now. Will Rachel be able to help or hurt them in the end? I received Love Finds You in Sugarcreek Ohio by Serena B. Miller compliments of Summerside Press and Litfuse Publicity for my honest review. I did not receive any monetary compensation for a favorable review and the opinions expressed in this review are strictly my own. By far, some of my favorite Amish novels are the ones where they blend worlds of the English and Amish seamlessly into one compelling novel you don't want to put down until the end. Couple that with a great mystery as to what Joe and Bobby are running from and you truly have the best of three amazing genres woven together in a masterpiece. I especially love the ending I didn't see coming but LOVE the way Serena closed this one with an exclamation mark on my heart! The best part is this novel is being made into a movie slated to be out in June!!! Hands down a truly deserving 5 out of 5 stars and one that holds a permanent place in my personal Love Find You collection.

I thought this was a very good book. It kept my interest throughout the whole book and would recommend this book to others who are looking for a good book to read. This book does not disappoint and this author is really good. This is the third book of hers that I have read now and I hope she keeps writing. It is not a full blown amish book since Rachel (one of the main characters is a police officer), but if you do like amish books you will like this.

I was vacationing and this book was at the house. Read this in 2 days. Wow what a great read ... funny, inspirational, feel good book with lots of history thrown in. Was so impressed with the writing that when i got home i went online to get more of the writers books. Totally surprised when I found out that this was her first novel published. I do not normally read "Love Finds You ..." type of books. To be honest this one was so good I actually bought another one which was not good at all. I have read this author's 2nd book and just ordered the third published novel "An Uncommon Grace". I wait with great anticipation for new novels to be published. You will NOT be disappointed. Her stories leave you wishing for more!

Rachel Troyer, lives in the middle of Amish country. She is not Amish, but is related to many of the Amish, her father having left the faith. After she orphaned at eleven years old, three of her Amish aunts had raised her. Now grown and a police officer in the small town of Sugarcreek Ohio, , Rachel's goal is to take care of her elderly aunts. Problem is, they are not cooperating with her plan. They run an Inn, bed and breakfast style place and do not understand why Rachel insists they stop taking in guests. After an accident leaves Aunt Bertha injured, Rachel insists no more guests, and they agree with the provision that they are allowed to help anyone they feel they need to help. They are strong believers in the verse about helping "angels" unaware. Enter the angels, well not literal angels but a young man and his little boy, who desperately seem to need the help of the aunts. They allow him to stay in one of the cabins, much to Rachel's disapproval, and he makes himself of so much use, they ask him to stay on and work for them. Rachel is upset, something is not right with this man, and she intends to get to the bottom of it. Her investigation turns up nothing and at the urging of others she finds herself liking "Joe" and his son Bobby. When she finally figures out who Joe really is, she knows her world is going to be turned upside down, and to make matters worse she has fallen hard for Joe. This was one of my absolute favorite books I have ever read. I love the Love Finds You series and to combine it with an Amish story was like the frosting on a cake. Delicious!! 347 pages $12.99 US 5 stars. This book was provided for review purposes by Christian Bookworm Reviews. No payment was received for this review.

Sugarcreek, Ohio police officer Rachel Troyer watches over her three beloved Amish aunts (Bertha, Lydia, and Anna) who run a farmhouse inn in the olde Amish way. Though their niece wants them to use her inheritance as she worries that they work too hard as Bertha and Lydia are past retirement age and Anna suffers from a weak heart due to Downs Syndrome, the trio loves meeting tourists who come to visit the Amish town. ---------------- Joe Matthews stops in Sugarcreek when his truck breaks down. He needs shelter for himself and his young son Bobby traveling with him. The aunts welcome the two males to stay at their rustic inn. However, though attracted to the handsome stranger, Rachel's police blood screams danger although he refuses to reveal his secret that she fears will harm her aunts especially when the incidents begin.------------- Love Finds You in Sugarcreek, Ohio is a super Amish romance due to the strong cast. The half English niece and her beloved olde style Amish Aunts (no electricity at the inn) bring to life an Amish town in Ohio while the two male strangers bring dangerous intrigue and romance to the mix. Readers will relish this enjoyable romantic suspense although the villain's motivation seems a bit weak.---------------- Harriet Klausner

This is the first book I've ready by Serena Miller and it won't be my last. I thoroughly enjoyed this story. It's a unique story, in and of itself, because it is written around the Amish community, but the main characters are not Amish. This put a unique perspective on the Amish faith and lifestyle and kept the story interesting. Rachel Troyer is a fantastic woman. I absolutely love her from the moment I meet her. She is strong and courageous with just enough doubt in herself to make her more human. She is beautiful without realizing it, loyal, kind, and strong in her faith. Joe Matthews - Micah Mattais - is haunted by recent events in his life. He is trying to be strong for his son, and his humility and dedication to do what is best for his son is endearing. Rachel's aunts make for a phenomenal cast of secondary characters that add a great amount of depth to the story. Love Finds You in Sugarcreek, Ohio - By: Serena Miller The message of the story, clearly written at the beginning of the book, is expertly written into the story. We, as Christians, are to treat each other with respect, be helpful, not judgmental, and love one another as Christ loves the church."Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares." Hebrews 13:2 Overall, this was a fantastic story and I will certainly keep Serena Miller on my "to-read" author list! I also can't wait to see the movie that was inspired by this book!
