Inspirational This story by Nikolov is a inspirational memoir about heartbreaking and horrific events in a person's life. What makes it more torturous yet endearing is that it's a true story, or based on one. The survival of all of what is evil leads this author to put faith in God, and in herself. It's a grand story that had parts were hard to read, and sometimes, put the story down and come back to it. The story as a whole, inspirational. The story in pieces, inspirational and faithful, and survivable.

This is a monument to the cruelty that exists in the world, and the ability of individuals to rise from the ashes. Aimee Nikolov has undergone some outlandish cruelty and suffering in her lifetime, and this book is her memoir chronicling those events. The depth of feeling transmitted in her writing is shockingly involving and certain parts are difficult to read, however this is an important book so we can all understand, not just the initial suffering, but how important it is for everyone who faced childhood abuse to get the help they desperately need to allow them even a chance at growing up to be well-adjusted adults able to cope in everyday life. A very powerful read, and one that still sits with me days after I finished reading.

I’m not a big fan of memoirs, but this was recommended as an incredibly powerful read so I decided to give it a go. It is truly remarkable what the human spirit is capable of tolerating and being able to come out the other side. To be tested at this type of level is something no one should ever have to endure, and it’s clear from this book that the author has had more than a dozen lifetimes of misery in her short journey thus far. However rather than revelling in this the way many misery-memoirs tend to this is a story of hope and endurance, an inspirational story of refusing to be beaten. I’m not a particularly religious person myself, but whichever peaceful means a person finds to help them cope has to always be a positive thing.

Aimie Cabo Nikolov has been through a lot in her life, more than many of us could ever cope with. Not only did she find the strength to deal with the horrible cards life dealt her, she also found strength to share her story with the world, in the hope of helping others. 'Love is the Answer, God is the Cure' is an emotional story of a life that starts in the worst possible way, and of a woman who battles through pain and setbacks to find love. It is dark, and at times it is difficult to read, but once you get through the darkness, there is so much light and happiness. Aimie is a remarkable woman, and she has such a positive outlook on life, we could all learn a lot from her.

Reading the title of this memoir, one might think it bears a heavier reliance on religious practices, and chronicles adherence for success in life. The title, however, is more a response to the overwhelming challenge recounted in this author's experience, and ultimately an answer. Ms. Nikolov describes in excruciating, (occasionally unnecessarily so) detail the experiences of living in a home fraught with the horrors of physical abuse and extreme sexual violence levied by both parents, apparently in cahoots. The story continues, displaying the permanent destruction brought about in the author's life by this dark start to her life, through drug and alcohol addiction, prostitution, and depression. It struggles in part with too many details about family issues which the reader gets at the beginning, as well as a slow resolution to the story. However, the author presents a unique twist just as it seems the story is ending, involving new horror, but this time involving another family member demonstrating the generational affects of abuse and assault on one's children. It culminates with a positive outlook and hope for the future. Ms. Nikolov displays a strong character, for adult readers, but not recommended for younger readers.

Aimee Cabo Nikolov’s Love is the Answer God is the Cure is not what I was expecting. It’s a heart-wrenching real life account of one woman’s struggles against the odds stacked against her throughout her life and the salvation of finding true love. Nikolov has gone through so much, all chronicled here. As a reader I was stunned by each additional hurdle she was faced with. In a horror novel a character may be relentlessly pursued by the stuff of nightmares but Nikolov had this for real. I couldn’t help but feel for her, although her writing never comes across as attention-seeking or like she’s competing to be seen as worse off than anyone else. Despite its contents this is not a depressing read, but a story of courage and of a journey and it shows that love can ultimately triumph.

This is a book packed with such genuine emotion and tragedy, put also layered with strength and, most importantly, hope. The strength and bravery exhibited by the author to put behind her everything she has gone through, but also to put it down in a book to help others is so uplifting and inspirational. I recommend this book to anyone who has suffered in any way, and if you are one of the lucky ones without darkness in your past then I recommend you read it too, as you will undoubtedly have loved ones who suffered and this helps gain perspective on that.

Essentially this is an autobiography of a woman who I would definitely describe as a survivor. Although the title includes God, there is actually minimal religious content. Each chapter starts with a prayer, psalm or bible quote and in the final chapter Aimee describes how she began to pray and use rosary beads daily and that’s about it really. The main focus of her story is how everything changed (for the better) when she met the love of her life. The author has had an incredibly difficult life and had to endure a succession of awful events and situations. She describes her life from an early age, suffering physical and sexual abuse, followed by everything imaginable, including rape, high profile court cases, public vilification, hospitalisation, post-traumatic stress disorder, drug addiction, attempted suicide and custody battles. If you want to read about love conquering adversity this book is for you!

We each experience thing change out lives forever, but very few of us experience what Aimie Cabo Nikolov had to endure. At a young age, she and her sister suffered unimaginatively at the hands of their own parents, which set Aimie down a difficult path, particularly after enduring a harrowing court battle, fighting against the people who were supposed to protect her. When she found herself herself unable to protect her own child, she managed to find strength to go through custody battles and bet substance abuse. When she found faith in God, she also found faith in herself, and I found that extremely up-lifting and inspirational. Love is the Answer, God is the Cure is an unflinchingly honest story of a woman who left a toxic family behind, to find love and joy in a family of her own. It shows how even those that have been damaged in the past, can fall in love and make a truly beautiful life. I think this book will touch and help a lot of people.

Aimee Nikolov wrote a great inspirational memoir here. The spirituality here quite literally saved Aimee’s life, this is a story about persevering despite extreme forces acting against her. Love carried her forward, and faith fueled her. This story takes us through sexual and emotional abuse, so fair warning for people sensitive to the topic, and Nikolov doesn’t spare us the details. When her own mother doesn’t side with her, it’s a wonder she didn’t just give up. The story continues on, and more trials await her, yet she soldiers on even with the odds stacked against her. This is truly an inspirational story Anyone going through a similar struggle, or anyone who feels like their cries are falling on deaf ears and are feeling hopeless, needs to read this story. Though the story has a lot to do with faith, there’s much much more here than the surface suggests. It’s a great read and reminds us that if we push through the mess and keep who are intact that things can turn out okay. This book is one that creates hope, and that’s a wonderful thing to see in those who struggle as Aimee did.

I'm not sure how to describe 'Love is the Answer, God is the Cure'. It is a memoir that will break your heart and sob uncontrollably, whilst also filling you will with hope and marvel at the strength of the human spirit. Aimie Cabo recounts the harrowing story of her life from nightmarish sexual abuse at the hands of her parents, addiction, and poverty. When there was no other comfort for her, she found God – her love for him helped her to find love for others and receive love in return. However, there was more tragedy to come, when her daughter was brutally attacked by a Craig's List tenant. This is the remarkable story of a remarkable family. Whereas tragedy often has the ability to drive families apart, this family has such an extraordinary bond, that they have weathered storms that would destroy so many others. You don't need to be a believer in God to relate to Aimie and her family's strength. They drew their power and inspiration from their faith in God, but it shows that you don't need to get pulled down by past tragedies, you can find a way out of it, with the help of God or in other ways.

Love is the Answer, God is the Cure by Aimee Cabo Nicolov is an emotional and heart rending story. The author has certainly had to endure a lot, yet created a new life for herself. You can never predict when certain events in life change everything forever, and this holds true for the author. Aimee tells her story in a heartfelt way, from enduring terrible sexual abuse as a child, to being homeless, to substance abuse. Custody battles also took their toll over time while she was fighting for her first daughter. This book reads as a tragedy that turns into the consummate love story. She overcame terrible odds and created a wonderful life. Aimee writes with clarity, faith, and an openness that is hard to find. You will enjoy this true story with all of its beauty and positive spirit. Strong recommendation.

Reviewed by Romuald Dzemo for Readers' Favorite Love Is the Answer, God Is the Cure: A True Story of Abuse, Betrayal and Unconditional Love by Aimee Cabo Nikolov is the mesmerizing and riveting story of the author who, as a young girl, stood up against sexual, physical, and emotional abuse, together with her sisters. Aimee had been deeply abused and when she decided to go to the authorities, it is a decision that put the secrets of her family in the public spotlight. Follow her story as she finds true love and healing. This memoir is a dramatic tale of courage and inspiration to those women who have suffered the pain of sexual abuse in silence. It communicates the message that victims can stand up against those who have hurt them. The narrative is moving, with disturbing scenes so poignantly captured that they make the reader's heart break. For instance, after she has been abused, her mother finds her crying in the bathroom. Here is how she describes the incident: ‘“Why are you crying when you go to the bathroom?” she asked, in a clinical voice. She was trying to figure out if I was sick. Little did she know that she was looking for sickness in the wrong person.” Aimee Cabo Nikolov's writing is fluid and the author develops themes of love, family, relationship with God, and healing in a brilliant manner. Love Is the Answer, God Is the Cure: A True Story of Abuse, Betrayal and Unconditional Love is a deeply moving, inspiring story, told with unusual candor.

Hurt sexually, emotionally, and physically by the ones she loved, one girl grew up in a world full of pain. In Love is the Answer, God is the Cure Aimee Cabo shares her memoir of hurt, sadness, and healing. Losing her virginity at only twelve years old as a result of a rape, caused Aimee to feel hurt and broken inside. Her daughter was even taken from her after her boyfriend lied about her. For years, she put up with the pain, until she and her sister decided to get the authorities involved. Once brought to light, her case became known as "The Case From Hell". From court battles, to abuse, to addictions, to poverty, Aimee experienced it all; however, her faith in God never wavered, and it kept her going through all the hurt. Love is the Answer, God is the Cure is one woman's story of standing up against the odds to build a family with love that could stand against anything. This definately was not my favorite book I have read, but it also was not my least favorite. I enjoyed it for the most part however, so I would probably give this a 3.5 out of 5 stars if I had that option. I didn't think the book was written in an extremely engaging way and I wasn't drawn in by the author in the way, I like to be in reading. I did think her story was inspiring though, in that she didn't let all the hurt and pain of her past tear her down. She kept her faith in God and used it as her comfort during her horrific ordeals. Content Warning: There were a few cuss words in this book. However, Aimee was not the one who said them (it was her "raper"), so I did not take off a star for that. I do think that because it is rated a Christian genre, that the language should have been a bit cleaner. The bad language was really only in one part though, so I didn't mind it too much. * I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher through the BookCrash.com book review program. The opinions I have expressed are my own.

Reviewed by Carol Hoyer for Reader Views (02/19) “Love Is The Answer God Is The Cure” by Aimee Cabo Nikolov is the very tragic and at the same time very inspirational story of a woman who not only survived but prevailed against all odds. I don’t know if many individuals would be able to endure what Aimee did and still live to tell about it. Her story of abuse, drugs, poverty and neglect is sadly one that happens all too often in our world today. As a former psychologist, this unbelievable horror, even for me, was unfathomable. As in Aimee’s story, it often happens in our own families and backyard. I applaud the author for having the strength to share her story so others might find their own strength to go on, and also for utilizing her faith to eventually find love and hope. The author’s story was in all major media outlets in Miami for almost five years. There were those who wouldn’t believe her very descriptive accounts of sexual abuse by her step-father, friend and other family members. Her mother denied any abuse emotional, verbal, physical or sexual by her or her husband. Readers will be stunned at how easily family members turned against Aimee and her sister Michelle. In one foster home, the husband, a detective, raped her while his wife was out of the house. My daughter lived in an abusive relationship like this for seven years, and like many readers, I asked, why? There is no one answer to that question. Abusers are very cunning. I am truly amazed at how well Aimee was able to survive mentally and physically with all she endured. All I can say is “Good for you, Aimee.” This devastating true story is very graphic, so I do caution readers early on. But I don’t think she could have written it any other way. Each chapter begins with a prayer which shows the love and strength she has in her faith. I chose to read this book a little at a time, as I found it to be overwhelming to read all at once. The author has written with honesty and passion, and above all else, has given readers hope if they or someone they know is experiencing this type of situation. Her story educates readers about abuse and family neglect and is truly inspirational. Hopefully, it will provide readers with a better insight into those who are in this position and how, most of all, we should not judge. I highly recommend “Love Is The Answer God Is The Cure” by Aimee Cabo Nikolov for all individuals working in the professional field, family members, and women over the age of 14.

This book is heartbreaking and awe-inspiring. Love is the Answer, God is the cure is a memoir by Aimee Cabo Nikolov detailing her life and struggles as she and her sister went through a horrible sexual assault case. Reading her story is often difficult, but it is such an important story. Aimee fully opens herself up to the reader and writes in a way that both brings light to her trauma as well as gives her own life story an inspiring and uplifting. I found the book to be an incredible read and sheds light on an important issue that is often ignored. I would highly recommend reading this book.
