This is only the 2nd book that my 92 year old dad said he's completely read....that peaked my interest...so I bought the book and read it to my husband as we traveled....wow!! It took a while...because it sparked a lot of conversation...it was awesome! Now to love like I never been hurt!! Thankyou for writing this book!
If you have been around any people in your life, chances are pretty good that you have also been wounded by someone. In Love Like You've Never Been Hurt, Jentezen Franklin offers a lot of good advice for healing and loving those around us. Love Like You've Never Been Hurt would honestly be a good book for all Christians to read. Throughout the book, Franklin shares stories from life today and stories from the Bible to help readers see how to forgive those who have wounded us, how to heal from wounds, and how to love those around us in spite of past hurts and differences we may have. I have read several of Jentezen Franklin's books and I think this one is his best book yet. He seems to open up about his own challenges and to speak from the heart. I never feel like he is judging me but rather he is sitting next to the bench in life along with me and coaching me how to get through the tough stuff. His tone is encouraging throughout the book. I also like that he does encourage us to love others but he also tells us that we may have to love toxic or abusive people from a distance. As someone who has abuse in their background, I truly appreciate that he addressed those issues. I would encourage anyone and everyone to read Love Like You've Never Been Hurt. I received this book from the publisher, Chosen Books. I was not required to write a positive review.
I feel pretty emotional after reading this lovely book. Love like you've never been hurt. An amazing collection of self help with forgiving and quotes from the Bible to help you through whatever ordeal you may be going through. Some parts even made me cry. I think we all need a little help sometimes pushing through this lot we call life. I thought the passages of the Bible clearly helped to put his amazing points about forgiveness and healing yourself across. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who has been hurt or needs some soothing words to heal. I'm going to buy this in print, it's an amazing book that you can read over and over. Thanks to netgalley and the author for a copy to read and review. This just happened to be just what God needed me to read right now. Amazing book.
By the end of the first chapter, I was hungry for more! Jentzen writes truly from his heart, and his style is very personal, warm, understanding, and he uses scriptures very well throughout the book. This book speaks simply but directly to my soul, healing and guiding me where I feel stuck and "icky" in relationships. There's nothing better than using the wisdom of God in solving every day issues, very intense ones. Jentzen guides us down the path of forgiveness and release. We cannot be forgiven if we refuse to forgive. He encourages to live from a place of continual love, unconditional love, as Jesus' life exemplified for us. He clearly states that, holding on the past can be a very dangerous way to live, and is devoid of forgiveness, which releases us for the blessings of God. This book is a must read for anyone struggling with deep hurt and offense in their life. Get it, read it, digest it, live it! Thank you Jentzen. You have no idea how very personally this spoke to me. Please keep writing!
