Love on the Slopes by Amy Manemann

Jessa Hartley is haunted by memories of the night she threw herself at her childhood crush, Dominic DeRenzi - and he turned her away. Years later, Jessa has managed to put the past behind her and climb up the ranks as head instructor of the ski lodge she one day hopes to purchase. Only her plans take a nosedive when the smooth talking Italian shows back up in town. Even worse, he's planning on purchasing HER lodge.

After surviving a disastrous marriage, Dominic DeRenzi returns to Jackson Hole, Wyoming, hoping to make a fresh start for him and his six year old son by purchasing the old ski lodge. Until a chance encounter with Jessa Hartley throws his well laid plans off track. The once innocent girl from his childhood has grown into the beautiful woman he always knew she would become, and he is painfully reminded of the night he overstepped his bounds and kissed her. Then broke her heart by sending her away.

Rekindling the flames of their past isn't part of the plan, yet Dominic and Jessa soon find they're helpless to stop the fire that burns brightly between them. He broke her heart the first time he left, but can he make her see this time around he's here to stay?

I've read several of Amy's book and this one is by far my favorite. I think the characters are well developed and the story is very emotional. I love "first love" reunions and the author did a great job of creating stress and angst as the couple start to rediscover themselves. I love how Dom was initially blind-sided by Jessa's arrival but quickly decided he wants to rekindle what was there previously, and works methodically and sensitively to rebuild love with Jessa. As they get closer, it's fun to watch as Jessa sees a situation through the "goggles" of her previous relationship with Dom and jumps to the completely wrong conclusion. And Dom reactes in EXACTLY the right way and in the way that Jessa needed him to react to show he's truly serious about her and their future together. As this is the first book in the series, the author has also set us up to get excited for stories about the other members of Jackson Hole, and the Hartley family and what is driving their lives and their loves. I look forward to reading subsequent books in the series, but in the meantime, I'll revel in the joy and love that radiate from Dom and Jessa in this story of Love on the Slopes.

What happens when the past and the future collide? I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review. In her new Hartley Series, Amy Manemann introduces us to the Hartley family of Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Book #1 of the series, Love on the Slopes, tells the story of Jessa Hartley and Dominic DeRenzi, one time childhood pals. Their relationship came to a painful end, however, when then teenage Dominic rejected Jessa’s declaration of love; leaving town for Italy the next day. When, years later, Dominic returns to Wyoming seemingly to ruin Jessa’s dreams, can the relationship be saved? The premise of the story allows for a plethora of conflict and difficult situations for the main characters to work through as they decide if it is worth taking a second chance on love. Manemann does a good job setting up the story as well as introducing us to all the members of the Hartley family. Sufficient backstory is provided to not only get us up to date on where Jessa and Dominic are, but to also give us a peek into future series offerings and anticipate watching those relationships develop. However, the promise of conflict never really materializes. Each time our couple faces difficulty, one or both of them thinks about the situation and sees the error of their ways and the conflict is resolved. If you are a fan of watching couples fight against the forces keeping them apart, you may not love this story. However, Manemann keeps the feelings real and allows the story to develop so that readers can enjoy watching Jess and Dominic find their way back to each other. This is a ‘sweeter’ book. While passionate scenes are included as part of the story, no erotic or explicit descriptions are included. Love On The Slopes (Hartley Series #1) Get it. Read it. Enjoy!!

I absolutely adored this cute love story! I personally love it when two people from the past still show interest in one another. I liked how they were trying to play it off but couldn't do it anymore. It was sweet how it all finally came together. Hot, rich, Italian, and an amazing dad?! You know you're going to love the story just from that! Dominic is a great dad to Dante. I hope to see more of this relationship in the next books. I was getting confused a little with the sibling's names all starting with a "J" but once I read more of the series I'm sure I won't have a problem keeping up with their personalities. The story was well written, put together great, it kept my attention and left me wanting for more.

Love on the Slopes is the first book that I’ve read by Amy Manemann and I can’t wait to read the next installment in her series. I love how Ms. Manemann not only told Jessa Hartley and Dominic DeRenzi’s story but also introduced us to a whole host of characters that she can weave into stories of their own. I especially love to read stories about second chances and Love on the Slopes was one of those books that will stay with me for a long time to come. I love how Jessa and Dominic were re-introduced to one another and how both of their characters dealt with not only their past relationship but how they built their new one. I love how Dominic’s son Dante was woven into the story and how he fell head over heels for Jessa. I look forward to reading more of Amy Manemann’s works. I’d like to disclose that I received a copy of Love on the Slopes in exchange for a fair and honest review.

Great Book! This was a great book; this was the first book by Amy Manemann that I have read and I am looking forward to reading more. Jessa is still trying to forget the night she threw herself at her childhood crush Dominic and he turned her away. Now years later she is managed to put the past behind her and wants to one day purchase the ski lodge she works at. Dominic returns to Wyoming to purchase an old ski lodge, to make a fresh start for himself and his son after a bad marriage. When he sees Jessa after all these years he is reminded of the night he broke her heart. This is a great love story; it is well written and kept my attention until the end. I highly recommend this book if you are looking for a great romance with some humor. I am looking forward to reading more books by this author.  A Review copy was provided to me in exchange for a fair and honest review. The free book held no determination on my personal review.

A romance about second chances. I really loved the Hartley siblings. The way they play off each other and how close knit they are. Loved Dominic's son Dante. He was such a little cutie. Jessa had her affection thrown in her face by Dominic years ago now he is back to buy the lodge she's been dreaming of purchasing. Can these to reconcile the past in order to move on, but those long ago sparks flare back to life. Can they take advantage of this second chance or will someone in Dominic's past ruin it all?

Jessa Hartley has a dream. She wants to own the Jackson Hole ski lodge.  She's been saving her money and the time is right. She didn't count on someone else buying the lodge. When she finds out who the new owner is, she's furious.  Jessa is not about to give in though.      Dominic DeRenzi  needed to find a safe place to raise his son. His first thoughts were of the town where he grew up. Dom knew his son would be happy there. He can't stop thinking about Jessa though.  With a miserable and failed marriage behind him, Dom just wants to find happiness again.      Can they let the past rest? They are closer than ever, still, Jessa isn't sure she wants Dom.      This book is extremely well written.  The plot, the characters and the setting make this a wonderful read.  I felt like I knew what Jessa was going through.  I stayed rooted to my chair with this one. Each page leaves you hungry for more.  The story is touching and sweet, just the thing to pick up  an otherwise ordinary day.  Ms. Manemann does a terrific job of keeping the pace up while making the reader feel as if they are watching a play or movie.  I'd love to see this one as a TV series or a couple of movies. Yes, it's that good.  I laughed at the way Jessa's brothers treated her. They provide many laughs in this book.  You'll be glad you bought this one!      I didn't find any issues.      I gave this one 5 cheers out of 5 because I wanted to be part of this lively group.  ~Copy of book provided by author in exchange for a fair review~

If you are looking for a story filled with love, laughter, friendship and sweet romance, Love On The Slopes by Amy Manemann is for you. This was my first book by Amy and it will not be my last. It’s one of those feel-good, warm-and-fuzzy romances. The story was easy to read, and I found myself flying through pages. I didn’t have the emotional ups and downs that I get with some books so this is something that you will want to read when you are sick of fighting the emotional roller coaster of reality. In Love On The Slopes, Dominic is coming back home to start over for he and his son, Dante. Dominic and Jessa grew up together but when they parted, Jessa assumed the worst and has harbored ill feelings toward Dominic ever since. Dominic has had his share of struggles in life and just wants to come back to a familiar place with happy memories. As you can imagine, the homecoming for Dominic does not go so well. The author does a great job with Dominic and Jessa. Sometimes I felt that Dominic was too good to be true (even in a romance) but I think I learned throughout the book that he really is who you see. I related to Jessa a little more because of her emotional ups and downs, as I would have felt the same way, yet sometimes I wanted her to just stay strong and not let her insecurities drag her down. The addition of Dante was great. I love it when kids are in a story because they add such a refreshing and honest aspect. Dante helped bring Dominic and Jessa back together so he really played an integral role in the story. I also enjoyed his nanny, Elaina, and would love it if she ended up with one of Jessa’s brothers (or someone equally fantastic). Overall, Love On The Slopes was an enjoyable read. If you are looking for a feel-good romance that takes you to the the wintery ski slopes and keeps you warm with homemade beer, friendship, family and love, give Love On The Slopes a try!

This was a wonderful contemporary romance. I love the Hartley family. It is easy to tell that these siblings have a lot of interesting stories to tell. This book gives us Jessa's story. I like that she is the first story we get to read. Her brothers all seem to be super tough and accomplished, but she fits right in. She is amazing at everything she does, and I loved her fiery spirit. I also liked that Dom had a history with the family, especially with Jessa. There were so many unanswered questions from the past, and it is interesting to think about how things could have turned out if Dom didn't leave. Their history helps make their current situation complicated and intriguing. Jessa and Dom are being very careful around each other because they have the memory of that night long ago constantly weighing on them. Their emotions come through so clearly on the pages, that it is as if you are right there experiencing them with them. The supporting characters are great too. Dante is great for pointing out the things adults might try to avoid, and his relationships with his father and Jessa are very heartwarming. I hope to see more of the Hartley brothers. They have a lot going on, and I would love to know all about it. The story and characters were fantastic. If you are looking for a great contemporary romance, this is it. I received this book in exchange for an honest review.

I was given a copy of this book for an honest review. Amy Manemann is a new author to me and I have to say I enjoyed this book and will be reading more of her work. Dominic and Jessa fell in love years prior and let their chance for happiness slip through their fingers. They were not ready for a relationship at that point in their lives. When they cross paths again, sparks fly... and not necessarily because of their chemistry! Their second chance at love presents itself when Jessa watches as Dom buys the ski lodge she so desperately wants out from under her and this sets up the story line. Will they find their true happiness together or will fate keep them apart? The story is well written and flows well. I enjoyed the characters and was pleased to find out that this is the first of a series.

I am grateful to have been given the chance to read an ARC of Love on the Slopes by Amy Manemann.  My favorite romances are the ones where two people are blessed to rediscover the love they let slip through their fingers.  Dominic and Jessa are perfect examples. Jessa and Dominic in their youth did not give their love a chance. Unexpectedly crossing paths years later will Dominic and Jessa find what they have been searching for all the years they were apart?  Or will what has brought them together end up ruining the future that is within their grasps?  A sweet and simple romance about not taking for granted the blessings given to you.  Received Love on The Slopes for an honest review.

A must read!!  Having never read anything by Amy Manemann I was delighted to find that the story was gripping and the well written and the characters were fun and engaging!  In this book you will meet a family you will be intrigued by and want to get to know better, best friends who always have each other's back and the cutest little boy EVER! Dominic and Jessa are characters that keep you entertained but also emotionally involved. Rooting for their love story and for Dante's happyness.  I fell in love with the small town and totally want to visit the lodge for skiing lessons.  If you enjoy contemporary romance that is sweet and engaging you will adore these characters. Come meet Jessa and Dominic and see where their story goes.  Book 1 in the Hartley Series.

Love on the slopes is a fast paced love story between Jessa and Dominonic.  They first met as children when Dom was a friend of the family and Jessa followed him around. Dom left town and Jessa never forgot him or got over him. Can you really meet your soulmate at a young age? I am a romantic at heart and love to read romance novels. (My husband hates when I do ahahaha). I fell in love with this story and read the book in a day. I just couldn’t put it down! I can’t wait to read the other books in the series when they come out.
