Like the Irish Cladaugh Ring, Barry reminds the reader of the timeless presence of friendship, love, and loyalty. And, like the ring, depending on the way you wear it (or in this case, the way you read it) you are either discovering, living, remembering, or even sometimes re-living the romantic moments that the special people in our lives have shared with us. Each moment is forever a passionate one, and one that brings us from a past moment to all of our future moments. Let love and friendship reign -- in all our lifetimes! Thank you for putting your thoughts on paper for all of us to enjoy reading -- again and again.
This book has helped me greatly in my practice as a marriage counselor. I give it to every couple that comes into my office. It conveys a deep insight into what love is really about. I have found that it helps couples rediscover the love that they had when they first met. Because the poetry is so sincere and honest. It focuses on the inner beauty we all have; our protective nature, our desire to be connected emotionally, and our ability to love someone so much that nothing else matters. I find that it helps couples focus more on each other rather than be distracted by stresses posed on them by work and children.
I can't believe this book is written by a man. It's so deep and romantic. I've never read poetry like this. I understand it and enjoy reading it. It's something I want to have in the bathroom to read on a daily basis. Truly astonishing.
