Overview

He’d lost her to another man because he hadn’t admitted to his feelings. And he’d almost destroyed his band because of his broken heart. But when Luke Thompson, The Fury’s lead singer, learns that Audrey Pierce is once again single, he’s determined to do all he can to win her back.

Audrey walked away from Luke because she didn’t believe he’d stick around. What rock star wants to be tied down? Especially one so involved with his fans. She may make her living dressing rock stars, but she knows firsthand that living with one isn’t easy. She’s tried moving on, but can’t get Luke out of her mind. When he swoops back into her life, old feelings return, sharper and sweeter than ever, but she’s still afraid to trust him.

Through love songs, sexy kisses, and solid determination, Luke convinces Audrey to give him a chance.

When his beloved fans turn on her, Audrey expects some of the hate. After all, she’s dating the man voted sexiest rocker of the year. But the attacks escalate, and soon, even Luke’s support isn’t enough to make her feel safe. The only choice is to let him go.

Luke must make the ultimate choice—the love of his life, or the people who support his career. If Audrey walks away, Luke knows he’ll lose her for good. Can he convince her that their love is strong enough to survive anything, or will both his love and career end on a sour note?

I wasn't sure that I was ready for Luke's story after his actions in Love Notes (book 1 in the series). BUT, in this story, we really see why he acted the way he did. And we can sympathize with him. He's a hot head with a soft spot for Audrey and his band mates. Audrey swore she'd never date another rock star. But, finds out she can't say no to Luke. Unfortunately his fans find a way between them and jeopardize everything. I really enjoyed this book and can't wait for the next one in the series!

Love Song by Susan Scott Shelley....I could not put this book down, I felt like I was on a roller coaster with twists and turns not knowing what would happen next. This was such an entertaining story, I can't wait for the next. Susan Scott Shelley is a new author to me and I am so excited I found her. If you have not read her or this book, you will want to. I was given a complimentary book for an honest review.

I received an ARC in exchange for a honest review. This novel starts off with the briefest glimpse into the story of book #1 in the series. So if you haven't read book #1, you will not be "behind" because Susan gives you enough to "fill you in" without you being lost. That was a huge plus for me as I had not started this series yet. I loved this book! Although I wouldn't classify it as romantic suspense, it did have a mystery or crime to be solved. This novel tackled an issue we see almost daily in real life--bullying. Bullying with the twist of a famous rock star added into the mix. There was jealousy, bullying, and second chance at love. Luke, singer of The Fury, finds out the girl he let walk away, is now unattached. Luke nearly destroyed his band when he "lost" Audrey to another man. The Fury even lost the backing of their record label. Audrey decided she couldn't and wouldn't date another rock star--EVER! She was tired of being "second or third" in a rockers life, so she told Luke no.....Audrey decided a "suit" was what she needed, but not what she ended up wanting. In walks Luke and he's decided he's not taking no for an answer this time around. So as not to spoil the ending, I'll say it does end in a HEA and is NOT a cliffhanger. There is a little twist at the end that was surprising, but added a lot to the story! I highly recommend this novel!

Susan Scott Shelley's motto is "Love always wins" and that's exactly what you get with her latest novel, LOVE SONG. Set in the rock music world, it's a return to her setting with the rock band The Fury, introduced in her book, CAPTIVATED, and includes characters from that book series, crossing over to this new series. After a disastrous tour and a much needed vacation, The Fury embark on a new direction with their band, creating their own label. To do that they need the talents of hot designer, Audrey Pierce. It's no secret that Audrey and lead singer Luke Thompson have a chemistry that nearly sets the house on fire. But can they survive the constant throngs of fans and gossip that follow them everywhere? The book gives a great look at the backstage of the music business and a taste of the dark side. The Fury is hounded by fans wherever they go, making their personal lives hell. The inclusion of the press as an influence in the story line is unique and refreshing. It's no matter that bands come and go so quickly in the music world since it's impossible to be anything close to normal. That concept is used to an advantage creating delicious conflict. Characters are well drawn and vivid with welcome revisits from characters from previous books. They act well to drive the story on and provide much needed diversions and humor. As stated before, the story does find a way to make it all work so "Love always wins." It's worth a good look. Rating: 4 stars Heat level: 3.5

A rock star, a second chance romance (of sorts), and a bit of suspense make this a great read! Add in great writing and characters that were easy to relate to and this book had me finishing it in one sitting. Luke and Audrey were both great characters. They have a bit of a past, but it was more of one of missed opportunity. When Luke learns that Audrey is once again single I loved how he didn’t think twice about going to her to try and get her to agree to give them a chance. And even though Audrey has her reasons for not wanting to be involved with a rock star again, this is truly a case of “the heart wants what the heart wants.” Even though there are some challenges they both face trying to start a relationship, I love how the author was able to deliver and emotional story that was not overly angsty. These characters were faced with some real life issues and it was easy to believe that most of the events could happen in real life – especially the bullying that Audrey encountered on social media and then in real life once “the public” learns that she is Luke’s girlfriend. And I really enjoyed the bit of suspense that was thrown in, which added a nice twist to the story. The author has a wonderful writing style that is easy to fall into and, even though this is book two in the series, gives enough background on both Luke and Audrey to allow you to understand the history surrounding the various relationships between the two of them and also with Luke and his band. This is a great read that I would recommend to any lover of romance! I received a copy of this book from the author for an honest review.
