Celine Patterson is a recent graduate eager to begin her career as a camerawoman—with the fashion world and all its glitz and glamour calling to her. Things aren’t that simple, however, and she’s forced to take a job making a documentary in the Peak District countryside with a mid-list British actor.
In spite of her initial disappointment—not only is the job not what she wanted, the pay is appalling, too—Celine warms to the project. The actor she’s working with, Edward Robson, is kind, considerate, funny and a consummate professional. She realizes she can learn a great deal from him, and resolves to do so.
As the days of the shoot pass by, Celine grows increasingly fond of Edward, and that fondness quickly goes beyond the platonic. Convinced her crush is completely one-sided—he’s over three decades her senior, for starters—she tries hard to ignore it, hoping the feelings will go away.
But then something happens to change Celine’s opinion, and flip her world upside-down. How will she react? And can she emerge from this project with both her career and her heart intact?

Love the slow burn! This story takes it time and allows for the couple to get comfortable as they get to know one another. That being said, this still takes place over only a week, but they aren’t just jumping into bed with each other immediately without so much as a hello! Celine Patterson is camerawoman early in her career trying fill her resume. Jobs are not plentiful for a newbie so she takes a low paying, hardworking gig as the one person crew for Edward Robson. He is an older mid-list actor making a documentary on a smaller than asked for budget. Knowing how much of a raw deal Celine is getting, Edward tries to do what he can to make up for it. As the attraction grows between the two, they both worry over if it’s all in their head or is the other person feeling the same way. Both characters come off as genuine people who put their own happiness over the opinions of others. And these two actually do something quite foreign in most stories and communicate! It’s amazing what complications can be avoided if you just have a conversation first! I found this couple’s interactions quite endearing. I was rooting for them the whole way. Regardless of the age difference, they are still two adults who want to find love and companionship. The Narrator of this audiobook is Xanthia Bloom. She does Celine and Edward justice. There is good distinction between the two and the story narration. That is most if not all of the parts of the story. Overall I give this 5 of 5 stars!
This was a delightful, fast paced novella that I'm glad I had the opportunity to read. While not normally a fan of the significant age gap of these characters, the personalities of Edward and Celine made it nearly impossible to notice. Celine is filming Edward for a documentary. She's fresh out of University, and he's an established actor who had to beg for this side project that is close to his heart. Since the budget it tight, it's just him and Celine traveling to various sights and filming. I expected the mutual attraction to heat up several times but was left with anticipation. Lucy delivered the story and the romantic angle brilliantly. This read left me with a smile on my face and a light heart. I received a NetGalley copy for review.
