If you are just starting this series with this book, STOP, and immediately go to book 1, Damaged Like Us. That is where the story of the children of these families begins, with this one picking up where that left off. On the heels of the latest celebrity rumor about Jane and Maximoff, they decide that the best idea is for five of them to go on a con tour meet and greet style to raise money for the Philanthropy. So, the story continues with the siblings and their bodyguards going on a bus tour for four months. First, I have to say that this story is so unlike any other bodyguard story I’ve read before. This is about the children of three famous families, and their 24/7 bodyguards who are by their sides sharing their lives and keeping them safe. Maximoff, or Moffy, the eldest Hale and leader of the pack, is now in a publicly secret relationship with his bodyguard, Farrow. They came out to the families in the last book, and have agreed to continue keeping their relationship a secret from the public with Farrow remaining Moffy’s bodyguard. Max and Farrow are off the charts hot together. Seriously, they practically self combust being in the same room together. Their pairing feels so perfect – Max has not ever been able to let anyone get close due to his celebrity status, not knowing whether intentions were good and honest, or allowing that level of trust to be reached. Farrow fits all those categories for him. His position in the familial bodyguard structure has been established (he was Max’s mom’s bodyguard for years before this), genuinely cares about the family members, and has totally reached the first level of trustworthy. Their attraction can be felt with every word. Not only are they amazing together sexually, but their interactions and banter is fun and exciting. Then there is the rest of the crew. I have come to love all of the family members, one at a time, and the bodyguards just as much. They really have a unique dynamic that just works, and I could read about them all day and never grow bored. The guys all understand what their clients are dealing with and going through and do everything they can to make things as normal for them as possible. They are their security, but also their friends (mostly) who genuinely care about them. There are various security teams based on which family they protect, etc., and there is a kind of rivalry going on with them as well. As we travel through their lives, we experience the lack of privacy they must deal with, with each problem that arises. There is a stalker after Maximoff, trouble with Farrow’s father (and the families’ physician) that also add to the suspense. I could seriously go on all day about this book, but suffice to say, I loved it. I couldn’t turn pages fast enough, yet I wanted to savor it so it didn’t end too soon. These authors have created a fantastic world with these families and have managed to carry on in this book with the same feelings/ characterizations, etc. as were introduced in book 1. This is written in first person, which I generally abhor. But, the story is so good, so well written, that I hardly noticed it. I can’t recommend this series highly enough. The books are on the longer side, but believe me when I say you will be thankful that they are and wishing they were even longer. This might not be everyone’s cup of tea, but it definitely worked for me! I cannot wait for the next installment and hope we don’t have to wait too long to get it!

This is the best book i've read all year! It’s even better than DLU and that’s saying a lot. It had the perfect balance of family interaction and romance. The character/relationship development between Moffy and Farrow, the families, the body guards, just everyone was perfection. I can’t stop smiling!! I could go on and on about this amazing book. I can't wait until Alphas Like Us!!
