Samantha had just ended her relationship with Johnny and made her way north from South Carolina to the idyllic Mackinac Island in Michigan. A new adventure had sounded so exciting when she was just talking about it with her friends, but now that she was actually living it, she'd never felt so alone in her life. Starting a new business as a stranger on an island whose only means of transportation were horses or bicycles might just be too much for her. However, no matter how isolated and alone she felt, she wasn't ready to jump into another relationship when she'd just ended one. In fact, she'd grown weary of even thinking there was a perfect relationship out there for her.
Zack thought he was getting his life in order as he worked as a police officer on Mackinac Island and attended law school, but the past year had given him enough woman problems to last a lifetime and to leave a very bitter taste in his mouth toward romantic relationships. He'd always thought he'd wanted the loving relationship that his mom and dad shared with the stereotypical house in the suburbs, two children, and a Golden Retriever. But after all he'd been through lately, he wasn't sure that future was in his cards.
However, neither of them expected to fall under the romantic charm of Mackinac Island, love's enchanted isle.

About the Author
I have spent most of my adult life working with computer software -- supporting, teaching, and writing training manuals. But since I am a romantic at heart, my writing naturally found its way to matters of the heart. My husband and I spend our summers in the lush green of Michigan and part of our winters in the warm sunshine of Florida along with our two miniature dachshunds.
