The bestselling Eagle Harbor Series continues with Book 4, Love's Eternal Breath.

Lindy Marsden once dreamed of having a husband, a house, some children, and maybe even a sewing machine. But since she grew ill five years ago, those dreams have become too much to hope for. Now she just wants to provide for herself and help the abandoned children she found living in the woods until their father returns... and avoid doctors for the rest of her life. Their medicine never leads to any good, and she has the scars to prove it.

Seth Harrington loves being a doctor, but treating patients in the small town of Eagle Harbor is nothing like working at a prestigious Boston hospital, especially with the other doctor in town trying to steal Seth's patients. When he's called to treat a reluctant woman, Seth finds Lindy Marsden's fiery dislike for him rather insulting. He has the ability to help her, but she wants nothing to do with him. Until she shows up on his doorstep one night...

When the plight of a young abandoned boy brings Seth and Lindy irrevocably together, Seth finds himself in the most difficult situation of his career. His expertise can help him heal the sick, but will his love be enough to soothe Lindy's wounded soul?

Come visit the rugged yet beautiful coast of Lake Superior and the remote historical town of Eagle Harbor that readers can't get enough of.

About the Author

Naomi Rawlings is the author of seven historical Christian novels, including the Amazon bestselling Eagle Harbor Series. While she'd love to claim she spends her days huddled in front of her computer vigorously typing, in reality, she spends her time homeschooling, cleaning, picking up, and pretending like her house isn't in a constant state of chaos. She lives with her husband and three children in Michigan's rugged Upper Peninsula, along the southern shore of Lake Superior where they get 200 inches of snow every year, and where people still grow their own vegetables and cut down their own firewood--just like in the historical novels she writes.

Love's Eternal Breath was another wonderful addition to the Eagle Harbor Series. Just when I think there's no way to top the previous books, this one comes along and proves me wrong. I was completely captivated by it, never wanting to put it down. I've been very curious for Seth and Lindy's story. Seth's such a caring guy, doing his absolute best treating the residents of Eagle Harbor. It's impossible to not fall for him. He's trying to find his way in a town that already has a doctor, albeit one who's drinking problems, old way of doctoring and thinking are more likely to do more harm than good. And then there's Lindy. She's a very compassionate person, helping others even at the detriment of her own health. Lindy has breathing problems and doesn't trust any doctor. In her experience, they only bring more pain and more trouble. It was absolutely heartbreaking reading about her past. Seth and Lindy have great chemistry and it was great watching them grow and learn to trust one another. I found all the medical history fascinating. We've sure come a long way since the nineteenth century. The 'procedures' some of the so-called 'doctors' performed were gut-wrenching to read about. I fall more in love the town of Eagle Harbor and the characters who call it home with each successive book. I can't wait to read the next one! I highly recommend this series! I received a complimentary copy of this book. All thoughts and comments are my honest opinion.

In the Eagle Harbor Series, families from previous novels are interwoven throughout each new novel. These books become a story of life connections in the small town of Eagle Harbor. Lindy Marsden is a featured character in this story. Very well described, Lindy is compassionate and shares her love and life with a family of four abandoned children. Her health restricts her, but the author portrays her situation with sensitivity and sincerity in spite of her affliction. Seth Harrington is the new doctor in town, and struggles with his practice as the old doc in Eagle Harbor has taken care of the town's residents for years. Seth is having a hard time making his way. The author has done a wonderful job of creating a very dedicated young man whose main focus in life is doctoring. As friends mingle through one anothers' lives, Seth's skills become a necessity, and particularly to Lindy as she struggles to breathe. She's convinced she is dying. Seth does his best to convince her otherwise but her past fears of doctors make treating her nearly impossible until he earns her trust. I have enjoyed every novel in this series, and Love's Eternal Breath is as well written as its prequels. I love that the author has brought so many familiar characters together. After reading the entire series to date, I feel as much a part of the series as the residents of Eagle Harbor. Being a Michigan native contributes to a warm and welcome feeling, as I've been there, and can relate to the life and surroundings of the area. I'm excited to read the next book from Naomi Rawlings. I find myself wrapped up in life in the northern upper peninsula of Michigan, along the shores of Lake Superior.

*My Thoughts* Ever since I joined Naomi Rawling's influencer team, I've looked forward to a book I know I won't be able to put down. Her writing style and story telling abilities are so captivating, I often re-read the story the moment I finish it. A big part of her storytelling magic is her ability to create a relatable character. Lindy's fear of doctors is so palpable I found myself shaking right along with her as she tried to overcome her struggles. Naomi does a marvelous job of slowly unraveling the story to keep the reader engaged. I found myself feeling Seth's frustration and pumping my fist at each victory. All in all, Love's Eternal Breath is without a doubt in this year's top ten and is most definitely one of the best marriage of convenience stories I have ever read. ___________________________________ *My Rating* I give Love's Eternal Breath... 5 stars!

What happens when you have an overwhelming fear of Doctors? Lindy has been ill for 5 years and this story is a touching story of her helping others and a healing that happens when you open your heart and mind to true friends around you. Eagle Harbor is a place of family, friendship, faith and I can't hardly wait to see how the next couple will overcome! I was gifted a copy and my review is voluntary..

Love's Eternal Breath, written by Naomi Rawlings, is the fourth book in the Eagle Harbor Series. What a wonderful addition to the Eagle Harbor series! I just loved it...Rawlings brought us the story of Lindy. We start the story out in 1883 with Lindy having been diagnosed with a disease that would ultimately cause her death sooner than later. I just loved that she had a "One Day" list where she had some wonderful things on it...much like a bucket list of today. Unfortunately, she decided to give up on that list and because of her diagnosis. This lovely story takes us through her life as she knew it, struggling for every breath when in comes Dr. Seth Harrington who takes her breath away! Lindy has so many struggles and seems to focus on why why why she has to struggle with so many difficult things in life. I loved the way that Love's Eternal Breath brought into focus how much the struggles of our lives are not so much about us but bringing glory to God. A wonderful love story of what Christ means to us through the examples of the lives of the characters of Seth and Lindy in this book. If you love historical Christian romances, you'll love this book. I was given this book by the author. all thoughts and comments are my own.

This is the first book that I have read of the Eagle Harbor Series but it won’t be the last. Throughly enjoyed the story regardless of this being my first visit to this delightful setting. Although there were certainly continuing stories from previous books, this didn’t detract or make an otherwise exciting tale more confusing. I loved the historical detail in this novel - particularly around historical medical practices. The research was well done and made the characters even more realistic. The story moved swiftly and didn’t drag without being too short to fully flesh out the characters. I read the book in little over two days which is always a good recommendation as I wanted to find out the conclusion as soon as possible. I look forward to further adventures with the previous 3 books and a further 5th book due to be published this year.

Love's Eternal Breath is a wonderful marriage of convenience story full of heart and themes of compassion, mortality, and faith. Lindy had been a minor character in the previous books, so I loved learning her full story, even though it's heartbreaking. She seems to have lost all hope in her dreams, yet is using whatever energy she has to earn money to help feed an impoverished family hiding deep in the woods. Seth shares her characteristic of being selfless in the service of others with his passion for doctoring. I loved his earnestness even though he has had some experiences in his past that jaded him. When the reasons for Lindy's phobia of doctors comes to light, Seth does all in his power to earn her trust and eventually her love. There are some difficult obstacles, including internal ones, but the strength of Lindy and Seth shines as they turn to God and each other for support. I loved the setting and could really get a feeling for the era and the harsh conditions, as well as the beauty of the wilderness. Highly recommend this book and the entire Eagle Harbor series! (I received a complimentary copy of the book; all opinions in this review are my own)

I love the Eagle Harbor series and this one did not let me down. I did not want to put this down. Lindy was such a wonderful character. She was very brave even with her lung problems and what she had been through as a younger child. She learned trust in this story. I loved the romance in this story and the little bit of intrigue. Keep these books coming to us to read. I received this book from the author and I have given a fair and honest review of my own free will.

The Eagle Harbor series is one of my very favorites! Love’s Eternal Breath is another wonderful addition to this series. Once again, the author made me feel as if I was back in time. I was completely immersed in this story which is set in a small, rugged town on the coast of Lake Superior. The author did a superb job of communicating the fear that Lindy felt toward doctors. I felt so sorry for her and all that she suffered through earlier in her life. The frustration that Dr. Seth Harrington felt as he tried to help Lindy, and others in the community, was palpable. It was hard to watch as people were willing to believe gossip and misinformation, even when it was detrimental to their survival! The romance was beautiful and the characters had such great romantic tension in their scenes. Love’s Eternal Breath was one of those stories that I had trouble setting down. I am extremely happy that there are future books planned for this series. I received a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions are my own.

Realistic Portrait of Life I have been reading the Eagle Harbor Series novels from the beginning. The stories are deep, thinking romances with characters that are relatable and encouraging; the small town setting enables the reader to settle in and get to know both the town and its inhabitants from book to book, but each has a different focus. This particular novel is Seth’s story, and because of his profession, there is a wealth of historical detail pertaining to medicine and treatment of sick individuals. Tuberculosis, asthma, ambitious splints for broken bones, prenatal care, quarantines, tracheotomies, and even quackery make their appearance within these pages. It makes me thankful that medicine has made such strides since then and appreciative of the doctors through the years who have helped to advance it. Lindy is a terrified young woman who I didn’t even realize I related to until the latter chapters of the book. At first she seems to be skittish, then resigned, but as time went on, I could see she was petrified to truly live life because she was scared of pain and loss. It’s strange how reading about a fictional character’s journey can speak into my own life and give me clarity about situations I am facing; that is exactly what my experience was, however, and I feel refreshed and energized with a reaffirmed knowledge that God is good and He has a plan for my life. The romance between Seth and Lindy is a beautiful one to watch develop. The inevitable hard times threaten to tear them from each other, misunderstandings get in the way, but the dance between the two is sweet and endearing as the novel progresses. Unconditional love is demonstrated through prayer, patience and doing the hard things to see that the loved one’s needs are met, even when it isn’t convenient for the other. Throughout the entire story is a theme of trusting God with both the big and small details of our life. Suffering is also prevalent, but I loved how the author turned it into something that can give glory to God, even in the most difficult of circumstances. It doesn’t take pain away, but it does give it a purpose and encourages those who may be facing hardship. The best word I can think of to describe this novel is real. The pain, the hesitations, the desire to protect those we love from suffering even as we acknowledge God is the only one who completely holds life and death in His hands. I highly recommend this book for those who enjoy historical romance, who have an interest in historical medicine, or even someone going through a difficult time, if they are wondering how God could possibly use their own situation. This isn’t an easy read by any stretch, but it is a beautiful tribute to living life to the full as long as God gives us breath. I received a free copy of this book from the author but no compensation for this review. I was not required to write a favorable one and the opinions expressed are both honest and my own.

With each Eagle Harbor story I read, I fall a little more in love with this remote coastal town. Another wonderful addition to the series, Love’s Eternal Breath is possibly my favorite yet! Naomi Rawlings paints beautiful pictures with her words and transports readers to the rugged shoreline of Lake Superior. Seth Harrington and Lindy Marsden are complex characters brought together through unexpected circumstances. There is hurt and heartache in their journey, yet love and hope abound. I loved this touching and tender tale and eagerly await my next visit to Eagle Harbor! I received a complimentary copy of this book. No review was required, and all thoughts expressed are my own.

Lindy Marsden is convinced her days are numbered. She has the same breathing ailment that killed her mother so making plans for any kind of future is not something she will even consider. Her fear of doctors is almost legendary. Even the thought of being in the same room with a doctor is enough to send her into a panic attack. She figures if she’s going to die anyway, why does she need a doctor to experiment on her causing even more pain than she’s already enduring? The handwork she does for the local seamstress pays the few bills she has with just enough left over to help the four orphaned children she found living in a shack in the woods. When she breaks her pinky finger, her frantic terror of either of the local doctors nearly undoes her. Her panic-induced asthma attack causes her to black out and she awakens in Dr. Seth Harrington’s sick room with her finger in a splint. How can she convince these people that she’s fine – she doesn’t need a doctor, in spite of her badly broken finger? Seth Harrington is the new doctor in town and the more he sees and hears about the old doctor, Doc Greely, the more convinced he is that Eagle Harbor, MI needs him. Doc Greely is more quack than physician so when Seth arrives on the scene of Lindy’s finger-breaking fall to hear Doc Greely insist that her finger must be amputated, Seth steps in to say he can set the break. Seeing Lindy’s fear, he assumes it stems from Doc Greely’s pronouncement. When he sees some of her scars, he realizes that some doctor somewhere terrorized Lindy over a long period of time. Can he win her trust if he can’t even get her to talk to him? When Lindy is forced to ask Seth for help for one of the orphans and her reputation is compromised, can she get over her fear to see the man God is placing in her life? Will she let Seth help her by using his gifts as a physician to improve her breathing? Can she look to the future when she has been convinced for so long that she had none? Until Love’s Eternal Breath, I think I’d only read one other book by Naomi Rawlings – a Love Inspired Historical. This book captured my imagination from the first page and I fell in love with the quirks and foibles of her characters. Seth followed his dream and became a doctor in spite of being dumped by three fiancées because of it and in spite of his family’s desire for him to enter the family business. Lindy presses on and keeps doing the next thing even though she fully expects to die any day. Victoria takes care of everyone in town, following up on doctor’s visits to make sure families are cared for even though her stutter makes her feel inadequate. So many others are introduced and given life that I felt like I could step out of the pages and into the town. I also loved that the book is set in Michigan’s UP, a place my husband and I fell in love with last summer. I absolutely recommend this to anyone who enjoys historic fiction. I had a hard time putting it down so I could go to sleep at night and I felt like I learned quite a lot about medical practices “way back when.” Loved it! When you were a young girl, did you ever make a list of your dreams for the future? Lindy Marsden has a very specific one; get married, have a house, children, and buy a sewing machine. That may look a bit different than what your list had, and Lindy figures she'll never have these things due to the illness she thinks will take her life. The same illness that took her mother will surely take her too! And how does one trust a doctor when so many have done terrible things in the name of “medicine”? None of their methods over the years have made a shred of difference, just drained their pocketbook! So when the newer doctor—Seth Harrington—enters the picture, she wants nothing to do with him, and rightly so! Sparks fly, tempers rise & trust is not easily built between these two....what will it take for them to see eye to eye? I really enjoyed getting to know Seth! I got a glimpse of him from the last book when he first moved to town to set up his practice. He brings with him new ideas and methods of doctoring. You can see he really cares about the people of Eagle Harbor, his compassionate nature & gentle bedside manner soon win the townspeople over. He also has a hard time convincing Lindy that she won't die from her lung illness due to her mistrust of all doctors! It's going to take a miracle for these two to ever see eye to eye & that's where God can work it all out! I really enjoyed this story and revisiting the town of Eagle Harbor. There were many twists and turns that kept my interest throughout the book. I especially enjoyed seeing Seth's faith keep him grounded & able to minister to Lindy. Seeing her finally trust the Father for her life was the highlight for me! I also loved seeing the romance develop between these two in spite of all the heartache they've went through. What a wonderful addition to the series & I certainly can't wait for the next installment. This author knows how to hold her readers captive page by page! * I received a complimentary copy of this from the author. A favorable review was not required and all opinions expressed her are strictly my own *
