Overview

"Pamela Burford always delivers swoon-worthy romance filled with wry wit and enough sexual tension to keep you turning the pages. Just darn good fun!"

 — USA Today best-selling author Julie Ortolon

"Want to see true character growth, the healing power of love, what happens when you look below the surface? Want to read savvy dialog, good imagery, belly-laugh humor?... I feel very lucky that I've been introduced to Pamela Burford's books. Talented writing such as hers makes up for so many lackluster stories on the market."

— The Romance Reader

When four high school friends promise to find husbands for one another if any of them are still single at age thirty, they have no idea how complicated the pact will make their lives twelve years later! Book 1 of the Wedding Ring matchmaker series is Love's Funny That Way.

The Prospective Bride: Raven Muldoon, hypnotherapist by day and aspiring stand-up comic by night. She realizes her matchmaking friends have made a grave mistake—and that's no joke.

The Prospective Groom: Brent Radley, a blind date who appears to be perfect husband material… until Raven meets his sexy-as-sin younger brother, Hunter, owner of the local comedy club. Did her pals pick the wrong brother?

The Hitch: Hunter is no choirboy, but not even he would steal his brother's girlfriend, no matter how tempted he might be. But how committed is Raven to Brent, and he to her?

About the Author

Pamela Burford comes from a funny family. You may take that any way you want. She was raised in a household that valued laughter above all, so of course the first thing she looked for in a husband was a sense of humor. Is it any wonder their grown kids are into stand-up comedy and improv?

It should come as no surprise that everything Pamela writes is infused with her own quirky brand of humor, from her feel-good contemporary romance and romantic suspense novels to her popular Jane Delaney mystery series, featuring snarky “Death Diva” Jane, her canine sidekick Sexy Beast, and a fun love-triangle subplot. Pamela's own beloved poodle, Murray, wants you to know that any similarities between himself and neurotic, high-strung Sexy Beast are purely coincidental.

Pamela is the proud founder and past president of Long Island Romance Writers, Inc., a chapter of Romance Writers of America. Her books have won awards and sold millions of copies, but what excites her most is hearing from readers. She’d love it if you could take a few moments to post a review at the online store where you bought this book, and any other sites, such as Goodreads, where you like to share thoughts about books you’ve enjoyed. She’s grateful for the effort happy readers take to spread the word. It helps her and it helps your fellow readers!

I loved it until I got about halfway through the book. It got sloppy after that and I was tempted to skip to the end to see what happened but, im not a quitter. Sortof dissapointing because this could have been a great book.

I enjoyed the book - and could see where it was going. However, I don't know that I would have gone along with the pact so I found that part a bit annoying. That said, I will definitely try to read the others in the series, because I enjoyed the friendship and devotion to one another

First in the series the Wedding Ring. I love the idea of friends wanting to make sure they all find their HEA. This is the story of Raven, the first to turn 30. She is set up with Brent but falls for his brother, Hunter. I laughed, grumbled, cringed, and smiled as Raven tried to figure out what she should do. I wanted to kick Hunter a couple of times to get him on the right path. I enjoyed this story a lot and look forward to reading the rest. I received a copy of this story, and this is my unsolicited review.

Love’s Funny That Way is the start of a four book series. Each is a standalone but boy, did I enjoy binge reading all four books! In this first book, it is the first story of four high school friends who make a pact that involves them being single and thirty. Okay, I’ll say it: chaos ensues! I will admit that I had to stick with this first story as it looked like it might have parts that bother me to read (liking a sibling of your significant other) but it really wasn’t about any cheating or underhandedness of Raven at all. I was SO glad I kept reading as I really enjoyed this book. This story is about Raven (one of the four friends) and Hunter (brother to Brent, the original date). It’s not for me to explain – read the story. You won’t be sorry. I loved these two and they are perfect for one another. Both have to deal with past issues, before they can “find” one another, and I loved reading about them. I highly recommend! (And it is free, at the moment. Win, win!)

A great read. Well written with lovable characters, some ups and downs, some laughs and some tears. This was a free read and I appreciate not only the read but that I found Pamela Burford in the bargain. I've already downloaded another of her books and look forward to reading more in the future. So happy for a book with a HEA and just about the perfect length, around 150 pages. Do yourself a favor and read this book.

This was a good read.

Could have been interesting, but got bogged down with ridiculousness and unnecessarily descriptive sex. The boyfriend is a self absorbed cheating jerk that she feels obligated to date for 3 months because of a pact with her friends? What decent friend would expect you to stay with a two timing nympho? Stupid. Just plain stupid.

It was an ok book. I did not likthe idea of her going from 1brother to another, i thought that was disgusting, but oh well. It was overall an ok book.
