Overview

While in Europe on a piano concert tour, Charlene Walker's grandfather dies. Returning to New York late at night with the intent to attend the funeral, she is mugged, receiving a concussion and a severely broken arm, which puts her career on hold. In the hospital, her boyfriend manager runs off with her entire savings. Her life is in shambles. And now, she's missed the funeral.

Finally able to travel to Willow Junction, Michigan, she attends the reading of her grandfather's Will. There, she learns she's inherited half of an apple orchard and must live in his house for six months in order to inherit, plus deal with a business partner who appears to dislike her. When Logan Taylor's wife deserted him and their infant son four years ago, Logan swore off women and hasn't dated since. The last thing he wants is a partner, especially a woman. He had been planning on was purchasing the business from Charlie Walker, his long-term employer, who died unexpectedly before arrangements could be finalized.

Once settled into her grandfather's house, Charlene learns everything isn't as it appears. Plus, she finds herself trusting Logan too easily without understanding why. Could it be love, for the first time in her life?
