"Full of twists and turns, action, suspense and just a the right amount of romance." ~Goodreads

A rough-around-the-edges country boy falls for the one woman who could make his dream...or break his heart.

Britt Steele is fiercely protective of what he loves. Even if it means putting his own ambitions aside. He's worked too hard keeping a red wolf pack from extinction to let some city girl auction off their sanctuary. But Randi is no pushover. He's watched--and wanted--her from behind a whiskey glass for months. She's determined, much too tempting, and quickly turning Britt's attempts at persuasion into seduction. And he'll need every weapon in the Steele arsenal to change her mind.

Miranda Shepherd's bar is her passion, but money's flowing out faster than she can pour a drink. To save her business, Randi must sell her family's land to the highest bidder. One man stands in her way: ruggedly sexy Britt Steele. The definition of strong and silent, Britt's gruff exterior hides a raw vulnerability she's aching to explore. Yet Randi knows all about sacrificing for your dreams--and isn't willing to give up on hers so easily. Still, Britt's heated caresses are all too convincing.

Some offers are too good to be true. When the buyer's real motive surfaces, Randi and Britt join forces against a ruthless hunter. But protecting the wolves leaves them fighting for their own lives...and their new love.

About the Author

USA Today bestselling author Tracey Devlyn wanted to be the next Dian Fossey and explore the wilds of Africa, but that was before she met chemistry and calculus and realized a business major, rather than a science degree, might be a better fit.

With an enthusiasm for research that translates into creative (and disturbing) plot twists for her characters to navigate, it’s no surprise that her suspense-laden stories excite her readers and offer a glimpse of the nefarious nature lurking behind her sweet smile. Despite the thrilling, emotional ride Tracey gives her readers, she enjoys an annoyingly normal lifestyle with her husband and rescue dogs at her suburban home outside Chicago.

## NOT GOOD. Too many things wrong with this book. It's part of a series but it stands alone. That wasn't the problem. Here's what I didn't like: 1) Hero and heroine had no chemistry. I felt absolutely nothing when they were together. No passion, no heat, nothing. Deal breaker for me. 2) Hero wasn't likeable. I don't mind when a hero starts off rough, but he has to show some redeeming qualities at some point. I didn't like that he always put the wolf pack before anyone else. I didn't like the way he treated his brothers or the heroine. I didn't like how he always took the heroine's mom's side. Just because she was a good teacher, doesn't make her a good parent. 3) Way too much information about wolves and their environments. I felt lectured and quite bored. Some info yes, but this was over the top. 4) The dialogue was difficult to follow. Many times there were 4 or 5 people talking but you couldn't tell who was saying what. It took me out of the story several times. I kept going back to see if I could figure it out. Sorry, I just can't recommend. Even the love story was lackluster. Disappointed.

Loving Deep by Tracey Devlyn is the forth in the Steele Ridge, but the first one I've read (so far! THIS WILL CHANGE.) It worked fine as a standalone; two of Britt's younger brothers' stories were alluded to, but it wasn't to the point that I felt like I was missing crucial information by not having read them first. (Of course there's just enough told about them, and they're a big enough part of Britt's story by the end, that I must read them soon, but that's a whole other thing!) I thoroughly enjoyed Britt and Randi's story, even though I had to keep reminding myself that "Britt" was the guy. (Was that his full name? Did I miss what it was short for if it wasn't? My brain just kept wanting to make him into a "Brittany", and let me tell you, he's not at all a Brittany kind of guy...) Strange names aside, though, I had a lot of fun reading this one. The saving-an-endangered-species angle gave this story a new twist, and watching the brothers--and sister, and girlfriends, and even Mom Steele--come together for the big cause at the end was a real blast. I am absolutely picking up the rest of the series, and can't wait until the second round of books are released! Rating: 4 stars / A- I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

The Steele Brothers are a force of nature. They live hard and love harder. Britt, the eldest, is passionate about the endangered red wolves. He is determined to protect them. When his mentor, Barbara Shepherd, dies, her daughter inherits her land. Miranda needs money and the property is her only asset. Can Britt change her mind and help her save the wolves? Britt is a man to be admired. His love of the land and his desire to save this endangered species is compelling. He's on a mission. Randi is more than a match for him. Even though she and her mother were estranged she wants to do the right thing, but to save her business she needs money. She may be at odds with Britt but she's attracted to him. Britt is fighting his own battle with desire. The chemistry is amazing. I wanted a HEA but I knew the odds were against them. Things take a deadly turn, when a deadly trophy hunter attacks the wolves and anyone else who stands in his way. I couldn't put the book down until I knew everything was okay. Tracey Devlyn wrote a suspenseful story that kept me up way too late. The Steele men and their women are unstoppable. They belong in these rugged mountains. Britt might want to do it alone but his family has his back. I'm enjoying the Steele Ridge series. Their strength, courage and passion are to be admired. Britt Steele desperately wants to save the small population of Carolina red wolves living near his family’s conservation land from human intrusion. Miranda Shepherd desperately needs to save her bar/coffeehouse in the town of Steele Ridge from financial ruin. These two seemingly very opposite positions are very much linked in this nail-biting romantic suspense read in the Steele Ridge series. For in the beauty of the Western Carolina mountains, the hopeful sign that the native red wolf population may be growing is contrasted with the twisted view of “sport” that is chilling…. This book was quite a ride! Fairly early in the book you get an idea of who the bad guys are and what is going on. However, that does not take away from the suspense that continues to build; you may know the perpetrators, but you do not know what will happen next! There are a lot of contrasts in this book – the close Steele family and Miranda’s long estrangement from her mom Barbara; the rough-hewn and plain-speaking Britt and the more refined Miranda; even the Steele brothers themselves have contrasting personalities and backgrounds. But these contrasts come together in a story about the best and worst of human nature. I found the story well-written the characters well-drawn, and the villains sadly too realistic. I really liked Britt and Miranda; if I have any “con” in this book, I did think Britt’s interaction at times with Miranda was a bit chauvinistic and dated. I chalked it up to the author’s decision to make Britt a “plain ol’ country boy,” but I think that stereotype did a great disservice to the character. But I loved Britt’s big heart and strong drive enough to forgive that cliché. Nonetheless, I did enjoy the book and the visit to Steele Ridge!

I really enjoyed this book and this series. I highly recommend this author and this series. I like that Britt was different not a typical version of a leading man. Love this family. mjw

The story is well written and I enjoyed getting to know Britt and Randi. There was some good suspense. Britt does have a clear passion for these wolves, but I didn't see this as a problem. It made him feel more real.

I highly recommend this book. It was fantastic. The suspenseful plot and intriguing family dynamic had me turning each page, craving more and more of the story. Britt seemed so ordinary and passive at first, until you really got to know him. I loved peeling back his layers. The plot was magnificent. Tracey Devlyn's writing was like a labyrinth with so many twists and turns, and it was very clever. I adore clever. As far as the series goes, I have read the prequel and this book, and had no trouble following along, or falling in love with Steele Ridge. In fact, I want more, so I'm going to be checking out the other books ASAP. I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.

4 star I was pulled right into this story. The story has laughs, secrets, and heartbreak. If you have not already read the below I would recommend reading those books first: Steele Ridge: The Beginning Going Hard (Steele Ridge, #2) Living Fast (Steele Ridge, #3) This is Randi and Britt’s story. Randi needs to sell her land. Britt needs that land to stay out of greedy hands. He needs it to keep his wolves safe. Is Randi sells it could help her save her business but can Britt help her out some other way? What happens when danger comes for them? When not only is the wolf pack threatened but they are? Can they fight together to win the battle? Will they be able to protect not only themselves but also the wolves? Can there love for the animals and each other save them? Or will that be there down fall? I loved these characters and also the side characters. I felt I was able to connect with the characters and the story was a great read. I recommend this book.

Loving Deep by Tracey Devlyn was a surprise for me. The story has Devlyn’s fantastic storytelling, detailed plot, as well as interesting and endearing characters but the plot was not one I expected loving. I admit that when I first started reading this I wasn’t sure how much I would enjoy it. I love all of Devlyn’s other stories and I trust her writing so I wanted to read Loving Deep. It’s just that the subject matter isn’t something that would typically spark my interest. However, it was the hero, Britt that made me love what he was passionate about. His quirkiness with Randi but his love for animals is so completely endearing. Randi is a good match for him in that she understood his passion and was a reasonable, independent woman who sees him for what he is, bad moods, overreactions and all. Randi and Britt’s relationship was a rocky one, though. She was wary of getting involved with someone similar to her mom – someone who hurt her many times growing up. In a change of roles it was Britt that was the unreasonable one most of the time and Randi was level headed. Britt put his foot in his mouth often too. I wondered how Randi could stand to forgive him sometimes. It made their romance different and exciting because I never knew how a situation would play out. Britt and Randi’s story is one that will leave you with a happy and joyful heart when you finish the book. Leave it to Devlyn to provide us with a unique suspense story. And she sure can write evil villains. At first the bad guys are shown as polished and upper class which makes you assume they are above certain things, but at the end of the book, you see their true colors. I couldn’t believe the evil that lurked under their fancy clothes and money. There is a lot more I would love to tell you about Loving Deep, but you need to go read it for yourself. It is a wonderful story that will provide you with hours of entertainment. It brings together the Steele family for one of their biggest adventures yet. While I have read these books a bit out of order and they can be read on their own, I think the experience is best when they are read in order. If you are looking for a romantic suspense story that combines a fresh plot, realistic romance, and a family that will support you with no questions asked, give Loving Deep a read.

A fantastic story. A very unique storyline and fun entertaining characters made this a very entertaining read! Britt Steele is the oldest of the Steele brothers and he has a true passion for wildlife conservation. His latest find is the elusive red wolf pack he has found just off Steele land. He's not worried since the neighboring land is owned by is friend and mentor Barbara. When Barbara unexpectedly passes away the land is left to her daughter Miranda "Randi" Shepherd. Randi is a strong willed woman and she's determined to save her quirky little bar in town by selling off the land that was left to her by her mother. Britt tries everything he can to convince Randi to sell the land to him and the two spend lots of time together. As they really get to know each other attraction flares but will the land deal come between them?? I've loved this series so far and can't wait for more. I definitely recommend this one.

With the continuation of the Steele Ridge series, Tracey Devlyn brings us Britt's story. He's serious and gruff, but also fiercely protective and loyal to those he loves. Britt Steele is determined to protect the endangered red wolves that are living on his family's property in the hills of North Carolina. He had a partner in his mentor and neighbor, but now is only left to deal with her daughter Miranda. Miranda Shepherd isn't heartless, and she wishes she could help Britt, but her business is in deep trouble and she needs the funds she will get from selling her Mom's property abutting the Steele land and helping to protect the wolves. When a few "accidents" start happening around the property and Miranda, it make Britt suspect something is amiss. His investigation leads to them finding out a trophy hunting club has set their sites on the wolves ... and Miranda! Will Britt be able to save both of the things he's grown to care for so strongly?

Britt and Randi – wow – what a story! Britt is the oldest of the Steele brothers and has always been there for the family. He works hard as a handy-man but in so doing he has put some of his dreams on hold indefinitely. When he returns from a conference he finds out that his mentor has died, the land he thought would be his someday may not be his after all and the woman he has an interest in holds much of his future in her hands. With an endangered species at risk he feels he must find a way to get his hands on the land that Randi now owns. Randi runs Blues, Brews and Books – a multi-purpose establishment – that has done well but may go under if a solution is not found. With her mother’s many acres of land to sell she sees a way to save what she loves. With an offer on the table for the land will she sell to a group that might or might not be on the up and up or will she wait for Britt to purchase her mother’s land. With trouble in the wings the Steele family and their friends come together to save the day and while they do so Britt and Randi explore the potential of a future together. This is the first book I have read by this author and it will not be my last. The story was well crafted and definitely worth the read. It makes sense without reading the other books in the series BUT the bits and pieces shared about the rest of the Steele family do make me want to read the rest of the books in this series. Thank you to the author for the copy of this book. This is my honest review. 4.5 Stars
