Rarely does one come across a story that grabs you from page one until the end. Luckily, I found that in this one. The story centers around Matt Copeland, a widower and former detective, with a six year old boy . Matt has decided to move away from the city that holds too many painful memories. He also hopes that the move will help his son get back to being a boy again, and not a shell of his former self. He puts an ad in the Sunset Bay newspaper searching for a house with a yard. An ad that realtor, Chelsea Abbott reads. She feels she needs to help these two find that house. The perfect house is one she knows well. Matt has closed himself off to life , love and anything that he feels could hurt him or his son. Chelsea , who has also had her losses, just wants them to be happy. This is a story that while heartbreaking , it is also heartwarming. It is a story about hope, and second chances, about opening your heart again so you can experience the wonders of love and life as well as a story that reminds us that though life can throw us many curveballs, with the support of friends, and in this case a woman and a village, life if full of promise. Definitely a story you will remember and one I hope is the beginning of a new series. I was gifted this book . The opinions expressed are solely my own.
