Overview

Low Pressure by Sandra Brown

Bellamy Lyston was only 12 years old when her older sister Susan was killed on a stormy Memorial Day. Bellamy's fear of storms is a legacy of the tornado that destroyed the crime scene along with her memory of what really happened during the day's most devastating moments.

Now, 18 years later, Bellamy has written a sensational, bestselling novel based on Susan's murder. Because the book was inspired by the tragic event that still pains her family, she published it under a pseudonym to protect them from unwanted publicity. But when an opportunistic reporter for a tabloid newspaper discovers that the book is based on fact, Bellamy's identity is exposed along with the family scandal.

Moreover, Bellamy becomes the target of an unnamed assailant who either wants the truth about Susan's murder to remain unknown or, even more threatening, is determined to get vengeance for a man wrongfully accused and punished.

In order to identify her stalker, Bellamy must confront the ghosts of her past, including Dent Carter, Susan's wayward and reckless boyfriend — and an original suspect in the murder case. Dent, with this and other stains on his past, is intent on clearing his name, and he needs Bellamy's sealed memory to do it. But her safeguarded recollections -once unlocked-pose dangers that neither could foresee and puts both their lives in peril.

As Bellamy delves deeper into the mystery surrounding Susan's slaying, she discovers disturbing elements of the crime which call into question the people she holds most dear. Haunted by partial memories, conflicted over her feelings for Dent, but determined to learn the truth, she won't stop until she reveals Susan's killer.

That is, unless Susan's killer strikes her first...

Not up to authors earlier greatness. Mystery was good. Romance was juvenile and cheesy. Not what i was hoping for or expecting.

I am a big Sandra Brown fan and have it read the first day it comes out! I would have given her the full five stars but object to her use of foul language. Her characterization, plot, and storyline is the best!

Im not really sure where to begin with this book. It was a very quick read but it only kept my attention for the first 150 pages or so. Everything after that was just a little far fetched for me to continue to enjoy the book. I wish it was a little more believable, like more of a true crime book rather than continuing to add more twists and turns with a very quick ending. If i had the chance i would probably choose another book.

Sandra Brown has always left me stunned at end of her books. This one did not. I was disappointed. An okay read just was not that great.

I've loved Sandra Brown since she started adding meat to her romances. There is nothing better than a good mystery with some romance in it. However, the storyline on "Low Pressure" wasn't up to par. I guess they can't all be winners. Give me another "Mirror Image."

This is the first Sandra Brown book that I have read that was a disappointment. I struggled to get through it. It rambled on and on and my mind began to wander. I found myself counting the pages left until the book would finally end.

Strange twist to ending but the "hero" Dent was a little smarmy at times. And what was up with Sandra Brown writing that Dent kept calling Bellamy A.k.a? Real juvenile sounding. Didn't like that. Her earlier writings much better

Once again a disappointment. Glad I bought it at a discount store. Bellamy was a ditz and Dent (really ? Dent? How many Dents to you know) For once I'd like toread about a John, Adam, or even a Michael,The "culprits" were over the top and the sex was gratuitous-added just to qualify as a "love" (puleeze) story. Given up on this author.

Unfortunately the only thing that stands out from Sandra Brown's last 3 or 4 books is her overuse of the word 'culprit.' This book was a snoozer, with characters I did not like or care about. Disappointed.

One of my favorite authors. This one kept you guessing for a while. I figured it out before the end, barely. Always love the balance of suspense, sex and genuine caring. I enjoyed the characters and the setting. Great read!

The classic thriller/love story you would expect from Brown. This did not disappoint. It really kept you guessing the entire time. It's not until right before you actually find out who did it does it all click. I love how her plot lines keep me guessing and remain unexpected. Definitely worth the read for any Brown fan.

This was my first Sandra Brown book. I love her writing and the way she develops her characters. It has just the right amount of romance and suspense. Loved the book and every time I thought I knew the ending, I was wrong. Very good!!
