Chapter OneLucky Pup & Miss Millie heard their new family getting out of the car outside.
"Oh my goodness, they're here!" said Lucky Pup.
"I know, I know!" said Miss Millie.
As soon as the doors opened the whole family came over to say "Hello" to Lucky Pup & Miss Millie. Their new family had a mom, a dad, two boys and a little girl. The mom & Dad went to talk to the other grownups. The two boys and the little girl stayed with Lucky Pup & Miss Millie.
Lucky Pup and Miss Millie loved their new family.
"This is so exciting!" said Miss Millie.
"It sure is!" said Lucky Pup.
In just a few minutes Lucky Pup and Miss Millie would be on their way home. They said Good-bye and good luck to all of their friends that they had made at the shelter.
Lucky Pup & Miss Millie had never been in a car before ...
"This will be quite an adventure!" said Lucky Pup.
Miss Millie didn't like this adventure though. She was a little bit afraid being in the car. Miss Millie started to cry a little bit.
"Don't be afraid, I am right here with you." said Lucky Pup.
The two boys and the little girl heard Miss Millie cry too. They held her paw & told her, "It's okay Miss Millie there is nothing to be afraid of, we will keep you safe."
Miss Millie felt much better, she had her family there with her. Miss Millie wasn't crying or afraid anymore. Lucky Pup sat right next to her for the whole car ride home.
"I wonder if we will have toys to play with at home?" said Lucky Pup.
"I sure hope so! I wonder if we will have good food when we get home, I'm hungry. What about a comfy place to sleep?" said Miss Millie.
"I sure hope so too!" said Lucky Pup.
"We're home!" said the two boys and the little girl. They led Lucky Pup and Miss Millie into their home.
"OH WOW!" said Lucky Pup and Miss Millie at the same time.
It was perfect. There were plenty of toys to play with, lots of room to run and play and two super comfy beds.
