About the Author
S.R. Bell, a native of Michigan, moved to the island of Maui, Hawaii in 1989 with her husband and three children at a time when the culture of the Hawaiians and their natural habitat were being threatened by land developers. Many of the water falls, valleys, and mountain trails that she enjoyed with her family are no longer open to the public. Through the Lucy Tuppins' series, Bell reveals a time when the Hawaiian way of life began to change with the influences of western missionary ideals. Bell has five grandchildren, teachers piano, and is an artist living year round in paradise.
