New age neo-classicists Libera established their artistic niche by updating choral pieces with ethereal electronic orchestration and theatrical musical sweeps on their self-titled debut album, and the 2001 release Luminosa continues these themes. In interpreting Handel, Beethoven, Saint-Saëns, and Debussy among others, director and producer Robert Prizeman is working from a base of some of the finest compositions in history, so it is no surprise that the pieces are as moving as they are. The alternately haunting and embracing "Ave Maria," assisted greatly by the almost impossibly angelic vocals of soloist Steven Geraghty, swirls through imagined marble halls, echoing brightly through Prizeman's production, while the title track reverberates with delicate harmonies and intricate harp-based orchestration. While some listeners may trouble themselves by asking exactly which elements are organic and which are synthesized, those who can let slip the reins of analysis and release themselves into the music will be gently swept away.

Libera's high-flying voices are simply ethereal. Both of their albums are absolutely perfect. I can't wait for more!

Robert Prizeman has exceeded all expectations with this second Libera CD.... Luminosa. The self-titled debut album was brilliant and this time he has based even more pieces on familiar works such as Beethoven's 7th Symphony and Saint-Saens 'Carnival of the Animals'. The boy's voices are sublime and Prizeman's harmonies are original and unbelievably beautiful!

I heard the track, Sacris Solemnis on public radio and was so moved I sought out the album. The arrangements are great, the harmonies are sublime. The album far exceeded my expectations! A great selection for anyone who enjoys the music of boys choirs.

I was brousing at Barnes &Noble Music area and my eye caught the CD display of,''Libersa Luminosa''.I started to listen to the music.I never heard of these group of voices before.I must say I was completely enthralled!I felt uplifted. The majority of selections are relegious and spiritual. The ''Ave Maria''was one of the most haunting presentations I have heard.I felt it surpassed Charlotte Church's and Andrea Bocelli's randition of Caccini's beautiful honor of Mary.Almost as enjoyable was ,Lacrymosa,Sacris Solemnis.I could not leave the store unless I bought this CD!
