YURY A. ZOLOTOV, DSc, is Director of the Kurnakov Institute of General and Inorganic Chemistry of the Russian Academy of Sciences, in Moscow. He received his degree in chemistry from Lomonosov Moscow University in 1955. He was a candidate of sciences at the Vernadskii Institute of Geochemistry and Analytical Chemistry in 1959 and received his DSc from there in 1966. Professor Zolotov is a full member of the Russian Academy of Sciences and is head of the Analytical Chemistry Division in Lomonosov Moscow University.
