From acclaimed author Elizabeth Essex comes an irresistible novella introducing the Highland Brides, bold, brilliant lasses determined to make their own happily ever afters.

Rory Cathcart's appreciation of the exquisite makes him the perfect man to expose forgeries and root out fraud in London's tempestuous art world. But when his latest investigation into forged paintings puts him squarely in Mignon du Blois' shaky sights, he finds himself deep in trouble, and captured by something more powerful than mere beauty.

The moment Mignon stops a rakish thief from making off with one of her father's brilliant forgeries, she knows she's found the perfect man to help her steal back a priceless statue, and save her family from unspeakable scandal. She has no intention of falling for Rory's Caledonian charms, nor his seductive Scottish persuasions. From the drawing rooms of the ton to the auction rooms of the art world, the pair embark on a madcap adventure to save them both from ruin. But will the love they uncover be most priceless treasure of all?

It seemed very rushed and condensed. Then a few chapters of another book to buy...

Marie/Mignon is the daughter of a French Art forger. Rory is an art expert that had been hired to investigate the authenticity of a famous statue. Mignon meets Rory when she tries to stop him from stealing one of her dads paintings. Rory is a supposed art thief. Mignon then decides Rory would be perfect to help her save her dad. Rory is attracted to Mignon and decides to try to help her. This was a good short read. I liked this a lot and laughed at some parts. I didn’t like that Mignon’s dad put her in danger for his safety. And Mignon had to leave. But her dad was a lovable character. I liked all the characters a lot. I loved the ins and outs of this story. I would liked to have this a little longer but I do recommend.

I received an eARC, from NetGalley and the publisher, in exchange for an honest review. Mad For Love by Elizabeth Essex is a really sweet, funny and all around great book. Mignon du Blois’ has a father that is a con-artist, French art forger and scoundrel. Rory Cathcart has hear that du Blois’ has made a forgery that Rory is investigating. Rory likes to expose forgeries and end fraud in London. Rory goes undercover at du Blois by acting as a thief. While setting off to find the painting he is found by Mignon. Rory has her convinced that he is a thief but Rory is accident hit over the head by Mignon (funny). Rory steals a kiss from her and then leaves. But they are bound to run into each other else can they fall in love?

#1 in the new and exciting "Highland Brides" series. A quick, sweet, funny read which contains madcap adventure, stolen Art, a gentleman thief, forgeries, a feisty lady, a Scottish scoundrel who tracks down forged Art, and of course a beautiful love story. The reader will be drawn to the characters. Well written with a unique but interesting storyline. Fast paced with plenty of twists and turns. A sweet romance to be sure. Fans of quick reads, novellas, Historical Romance, a Highland in England, Scottish Regency, the Art world, and sweet romance will find this read enjoyable and satisfying. Perfect for summer reading, while waiting in a Doctors office, or even waitting in a Airport terminal. A sweet read! A must read. I certainly look forward to reading more from the "Highland Brides". A warning...this is unlike some of the other Elizabeth Essex stories, I have read, but in a good way. *Received for an honest review from Net Galley* Rating: 4 Heat rating: Sweet Reviewed by: AprilR, courtesy of My Book Addiction and More
