About the Author

James Viser is the pen name under which I have published my first two novels in the AMERICA FIRST trilogy: LIE MERCHANTS and MADE IN CHINA.

I was born in Los Angeles, California and graduated from Arizona State University with a B.S. in International Management and a minor in Economics. After college, I started my professional career as as an analyst with the international oil and gas giant Amoco, which was subsequently acquired by BP. While working for Amoco, I earned an MBA - Finance from the University of Denver, attending classes during nights and weekends.

I am currently a management consultant to the international oil and gas industry and before joining my current firm I, worked for an independent oil and gas company, raised venture capital as the Chief Financial Officer of an Internet start-up and opened (and then closed) my own business.

I also served as an elected delegate for Barack Obama during the 2008 presidential campaign up to the Colorado State Democratic Convention. After being a life-long registered Democrat, I decided neither of the two primary political parties accepted centrists, making it impossible to fulfill my mission of being an objective commentator and analyst. Consequently, I changed my political affiliation to "Unaffiliated," or Independent.

I bring my diverse experiences in business, politics, comparative religion and spirituality into my work, creating a unique and page-turning reading experience. My current projects include finishing the third book in the AMERICA FIRST series — AMERICA FIRST and I live in Colorado.

Influences include Ernest Hemingway, Dan Brown, Bob Mayer, Tom Clancy, Dean Koontz, Paulo Coelho and Torkom Saraydarian.

All I can say is WOW! I thought Lie Merchants (Viser's first novel) was excellent, especially the storyline, but Viser really makes a statement with Made In China. The PLOT TWISTS and turns keep the reader off-balance and guessing "what's next?" You don't have to read Lie Merchants to enjoy Made In China, but it doesn't hurt. Viser takes his protagonist Tom Worth on a new adventure that includes a new spiritual revelation. I don't know how he does it, but somehow Viser weaves current events in Syria, the US and China into a cohesive whole, and then ups the ante and gets into the metaphysical. I don't want to give the plot away, because it is just too far-fetched to imagine! Very cool, and very fun to read. There is violence, which is appropriate given the subject matter (look at what is happening in Syria today). The ending is a SHOCK! Made In China moves FAST, and Viser includes humor when it is needed. Well done! I am eagerly looking forward to Viser's third novel to round out the "America First Trilogy"!
