4.5 I loved this story, it was so much different from what I've read and are used to. Olivia is getting over her divorce, her ex husband didn't fill their marriage with romance, spark or lust and it fizzled out and Elizabeth couldn't take it any longer. Burnt after 20 years Olivia really isn't looking for love, but they say things come when you least expect them too and for Olivia it's in the shape the younger hotter chef Sam. Can Sam show Olivia he's the one to give her what she's been missing all these years? Nothing can be easy when there are people trying to sabotage their chance at being happy along with their own reservations. I loved the characters and felt like they helped with realistic expectations of each other and they way they dealt with the dramas of a new relationship together. I can't wait to read more by this author after reading this.
SM West is an author to look for!!! After reading her debut, Red (a romantic suspense) and now Made to Love (contemporary romance), it's easy to see that she is a talented author who can write in more than one genre! Also, it's a pleasure to watch her grow into her talent, too. She's just going to get better and better! Made to Love... What I loved about the book: ~The characters!! Olivia is a divorced woman in her 40's with two teenage kids. HELL YES. I'm so glad to read about a character a bit older than the norm in romance novels and she's been through a failed marriage already. There's her ex to deal with, and her kids, and the way her kids dealt with the split. It's...complicated. It's real life stuff. But I love that she is trying to take care of herself - working out, becoming an interior designer, taking a girl's trip - so relatable!! Sam is delicious!!! A gorgeous, successful chef who isn't wanting for female attention. AND he's younger than Olivia. He sees her at his restaurant and is smitten. ~ Alternating POV - my favorite way to read a book! ~ Not an easy HEA - Sam & Olivia have their work cut out for them. Olivia is convinced they can't overcome their age gap and distance. She isn't looking for a relationship after just having been divorced. But Sam isn't concerned with age and distance may not be as big of a problem as Olivia thinks. ~ The pull - These two have chemistry! Botton line - sweet, fun and sexy read by SM West. I have a *feeling* her next book is going to be amazing, too!
