Overview

Magically Delicious (Magic and Mayhem, #4) by Robyn Peterman

What does a hungry, pregnant witch do when her whole freaking town goes on a no carb diet?

I’ll tell you what. She goes on the sly and conjures up some anchovy-chocolate chunk cookies dipped in hot sauce—that’s what.

Of course my cheating gets complicated when all of the magic in the world goes on the fritz. To solve that particular wrinkle, I’ll have to finally find the source of the lurking evil.

Easier said than done. Maybe if I wasn’t pregnant and starving, I could deal with the nasty old witch who resides in a gingerbread house. Add in carb eating fairies who speak French and three rotund familiars who enjoy defacing property with profane graffiti, and what you get is almost more trouble than I can handle in my baby baking condition.

I’m still not convinced I won’t be giving birth to puppies since the smokin’ hot father of my babies is a werewolf, and NO ONE has given me ANY concrete proof to the contrary. Getting knocked up by the werewolf of my dreams was all kinds of awesome in practice, but the reality of becoming a mother scares me more than Baba Yaga’s horrendous 1980’s wardrobe.

Monstrous decisions with enormous ramifications are best handled with meticulous planning—or in my case—after eating a giant mustard slathered jelly doughnut. Neither of those options is possible at the moment, but since there is no way I’m bringing my children into a magicless world, winging it will just have to work.

Wait… Was that a contraction I just felt?

Goddess help us all…

Zelda and Mac do it again. The funny town folks and the witch in the cookie house will have you laughing until you pee. The twins are going to put everyone over the edge. Can't wait for the next book to come out.

This was a great conclusion to the series. My only gripe is that it was way to short. I finished it in a few hours. I really enjoyed this series. It was a great introduction to this author. I am hooked and looking forward to reading additional works from this author. I hope that there will be a book 5 (and further) that gives some insight to what happens in the lives of Assjacket,WV and the lives of the main characters, children and Sassy. Thank you for making your work more entertaining then tv.

New babies and kitten familiars! Future mayhem assured. Sisters reunited and edible houses what more could a reader ask for.

I love everything she's written. This book is a fantastic addition to the series! Having met her in person, I can honestly say her personality shows in all her books and this one is no different. If you like funny and romantic then this is a series for you!

At four weeks pregnant with twin's, Zelda has had some pretty bizarre cravings, and she's dedicated to satisfying every single one of them. While the town plots to get her to eat healthier, she's stashing junk food and strategizing ways to sneak away to indulge her cravings. After binge eating part of a gingerbread house in the woods, Zelda promises to help rebake the parts of the home she's ingested. But when the lurking evil shows back up in town, followed by a dip in magic world wide, Zelda worries she's the reason things have gone off track, and fesses up to Mac and her dad. After calling in Baba Yaga, they set off to the woods to confront the owner of the gingerbread house. When Zelda and Baba Yaga are forced to confront her alone, things get pretty crazy pretty fast. While Zelda is racing the clock to stop the evil before giving birth to the twins, some of the answers she's been searching for start to unfold. Magically Delicious is fast paced and provides payoff to some of the lingering themes of the series, while setting the stage for some new surprises to come. As always, Robyn Peterman's book is filled with laugh out loud moments, and also with sweet, poignant moments that bring tears to your eyes and shows that she is truly writing form her heart.

I am really sad that I can only give this book a 3 star review. I love Robyn Peterman and even if I am given an ARC I still purchase her books, sadly, I do not think that will be the case with this book. The story was still fun but the first six chapters felt like they repeated each other and just talked about different strange food combinations. The real story is great (once you get past the first part). I did enjoy 2/3rd of the book. It was fun to read about Mac with the babies, he will make such a great dad. I wish there was more Mac in the story.

I feel like every time I review one of Roybn Peterman's books I say the same thing over and over, using a variety of words, but somewhere in the review, I will say... I laughed so hard I cried. Here is the thing, I keep coming back because I love the characters, I love the craziness of the stories and I love to laugh. Zelda is pregnant with twins and she and Baba Yotoomanynamestocount have to save the magic in Asshat WV and maybe even the rest of the world. All of our favorite characters are back and a few new ones too. When the world is going crazy around us, take a break and visit another world, one that is so much crazier than real life, but you may just feel better after taking a break. :)

What's not to love about the world that Robyn has created for us. It was amusing to read the weird stuff that Zelda was craving and actually eating. Watching the town try to get her to eat healthy actually leads to Zelda eating part of a gingerbread house which leads her more trouble. Hurry and read the latest in the awesome series
