Magnolia Heaven is a collection of poems that depict the dark history of Mississippi, and celebrates its' culture. In the book, the author recounts her experiences of working in the cotton fields of the Mississippi Delta.The book concludes with a poem of the author experiencing discrimination as a first grade student during integration.Despite the injustices of the past, she remains true to her beloved state of Mississippi.
