This us truly a Wonderful story! The characters, especially the hero Gabriel/Gabe. When I read Gabe's thought about his life, about the meeting between the heroine, Lena and the description of Gabe, I was hooked. The boys, Caleb and Simon, everything anout this book touches the reader heart and spirit. This book is keeper. To be read more than once. What a beautiful HEA story! ***vrnb ***

A widow with 2 sons & a Nebraska farm in 1880. Could God bring them a new husband & father? Yes; but the Philidelphia bookkeeper who had no pratical farming experience sure looked like a confusing choice. The story unfolds showing God's love, provision, & care. I highly recommend it.

I loved this book, and was hooked on the story from the first chapter. The flaws in both of the characters gave a realistic view of how a mail order marriage might really proceed. To see their faith in God inspire them to work towards making a loving relationship was a wonderful story I could hardly put down. I would highly recommend it!

I was pleasantly suprised with this one ..At first I figured maybe it was a mistake to have bought , but I was hooked early on ... only a little over 150 pages but more realistic than most mail order books. It was NOT love at first sight for either.. however since both were strong in faith and believed that they both had received the Lords direction in them being married they accepted what they felt and had heard from him.. it was beautifully written. I will read this one again! ~CH

Not your typical leading characters, which makes this an interesting story...also liked that they each had flaws to work through.

A worthy read

I loved how God-focused Gabe and Lena were. Both characters transformed over the course of the story. It was also refreshing to see a spiritual foundation laid in their marriage. The historical fiction book I read previously had a marriage focused on lust, but it's so much more satisfying to see a relationship built in the order God intended. Great read, and I love how this book has a man introduced into a family as opposed to a woman. First time I've read that in chaste romance. So yeah, overall I certainly recommend this book.
