About the Author

New York Times and USA TODAY bestselling author Katee Robert learned to tell her stories at her grandfather's knee. Her 2015 title, The Marriage Contract, was a RITA finalist, and RT Book Reviews named it "a compulsively readable book." When not writing sexy contemporary or romantic suspense, she spends her time playing imaginary games with her children, driving her husband batty with what-if questions, and planning for the inevitable zombie apocalypse.

I am very picky with my romance novels, and 90% of the books I’ve read lately have been huge eye-rollers. The premise of this book made me hesitant, but I got the book at a discount so I figured what the heck. Boy, am I glad I took the chance! The female character was strong and still flawed, with layers that did not seem forced, and Gideon was strong without seeming cold. I read this whole book in two sittings, and honestly I would have finished it in one if I hadn’t had to go to work. I recommend this book to everyone, and I look forward to reading more of this author!

***Review posted on The Eater of Books! blog*** Make Me Want by Katee Robert Book One of the Make Me series Publisher: Harlequin Dare Publication Date: March 6, 2018 Rating: 4 stars Source: eARC from NetGalley Summary (from Goodreads): “I want everything.” She’s taking control. And it’s driving him wild! Lucy Baudin’s ex did a number on her self-esteem, but it’s time for her to regain control. In her job as a lawyer she’s bold, confident. But in the bedroom she needs inspiration to reawaken her inner seductress. Asking her friend Gideon Novak for help seems wrong…yet so deliciously right! What I Liked: I don't know why I put off reading this book for so long! It was published nearly a month ago, and I kept pushing it off for some reason. Katee Robert is one of those romance authors that never seems to disappoint me, and I was definitely not disappointed by Make Me Want. This book was one of Robert's hottest books to date, and also one of the strongest, emotionally speaking. Lucy Baudin and her ex-fiance split two years ago, and nothing has been the same since. Two years later, she is hoping to get a position at work, but her boss is very traditional and wants to see her married before promoting her. So she enlists her friend Gideon to help - he's a headhunter, and one of the best in the business. But she also wants his help in another way - she wants to have better sexual experience before going into her modern marriage of convenience. Gideon has always been a player and his reputation in the bedroom is legendary. But when it comes to Lucy, Gideon doesn't mess around. He has had feelings for her since he saw her at a bar six years ago - but his friend Jeff beat him, and Gideon would never break the bro code. Finding a husband for Lucy and giving her sex lessons? Shouldn't be too hard... right? I don't love the "best-friend's-girl" trope - in which the hero is in love with the girl, but she's dating his best friend, boo hoo. BUT. I didn't hate it in this book! Dare I say, I actually think the trope worked here. Jeff cheated on Lucy and Gideon found out, and told her, though he waited a month to do so (for good reason - don't demonize him). When Jeff and Lucy split, Gideon and Lucy stopped being friends... and the whole time Jeff and Lucy were together, Gideon never made a move or a pass, he was always a gentleman (in the friend zone). So there was no cheating (Gideon and Lucy never messed around while she was with Jeff), and the story starts with Jeff and Lucy already having split up. This worked for me. Jeff did a number on Lucy's sexual confidence, hence why she wants lessons from someone (Gideon). In the beginning of the book, Lucy is a little timid and shy when voicing what she wants in the bedroom. But by the end of the book, she is much more assertive. She states exactly what she wants, with full honesty, just like Gideon asks. I liked seeing this character development. I liked seeing a woman who can vocalize what she wants. Gideon has always felt guilty for not telling Lucy sooner, about Jeff cheating on her. When she comes to him wanting a few favors, he agrees, partially because of the guilt he still feels. He always had feelings for Lucy, but never said anything, never tried anything. Read the rest of my review on my blog, The Eater of Books! - eaterofbooks DOT blogspot DOT com :)

Lucy asks Gideon to use his skills a headhunter to help her find the many who will fill the position as her potential husband. There are just so many directions this can go, but there is a steamy, sexually charged ride ahead before they figure out that there are no candidates better than Gideon himself. I finished this one in a single sitting and really enjoyed this story along the way.

Looking for a relatively quick, steamily hot, contemporary romance - look no further, grab yourself a copy of this, the first in a new series from the highly talented Katee Robert! At college, Lucy Baudin chose Jeff - the wrong man - to have a relationship with, she really should have looked no further than her friend Gideon Novak! Now she's asking him to be a matchmaker and to teach her how to not be boring in her sexual relationships. Jeff did a really great job of undermining her confidence and self-esteem and Gideon feels responsible for not protecting her from Jeff's cheating ways sooner. Gideon feels like he owes her, so agrees to help. That's just got to be the recipe for a brilliant friends to more romance with plenty of overt hot action packed encounters, some humour and, of course, love and misunderstandings to keep things interesting! Katee Roberts is a skilled author, bringing her characters, scenarios and plot to life in the imagination of the reader. The story is only 159 pages long, but still manages to pack so much between the pages (or should that be sheets?). It is relatively light hearted, touches on the impact of an emotionally abusive relationship and shows how love can help heal the wounds such trauma causes. If you enjoy explicit contemporary romances, this has to be a great story for you to escape into! I requested and received a copy of this novel, via NetGalley. This is my honest review after choosing to read it.

Deliciously decadent! A delve into a quirky friends-to-lovers type of story that takes us from the lows of past love to the highs of awakening a whole new life with each other. The characters are flawed enough that they keep the strife fairly high. The overall plot is enjoyable and brings us a fitting happily ever after to enjoy! Attorney Lucy Baudin needs some excitement in her life, and she thinks she's found the perfect way to get it! She's in a rut and knows it, but when an idea comes to her, she looks up an old friend to put her plan into motion. Headhunter Gideon Novak isn't so sure about Lucy's plan, but if it puts her in close proximity, he's more than willing to help out! Will they part as friends when it's over, or will he convince her once and for all that he deserves more than she's offering?

Hot, new series...oh my! I really enjoyed this new Katee Robert DARE series. You can always expect great hot scenes, but I really enjoyed Gideon and Lucy and their friendship above all else. When Lucy asks Gideon for help - it's not only for his business acumen, but also for his prowess in the bedroom. Gideon has a lot of guilt over his role in how things ended with Lucy's ex-fiancee. But that's only part of the challenge. Gideon and Lucy can't deny the chemistry between them. What is frustrating is that they do deny their true feelings for each other and the fact that those feelings could be reciprocated. And Gideon is such a flipping idiot at one point that I wanted to scream. "I chose you, and you didn't choose me." - tears!! I did enjoy Becka's character and it will be interesting to see Roman's fall in the next book. This is gonna be a good series! I voluntarily requested and reviewed an advance reader copy from the publisher via Net Galley.

3.5 Stars A fun read in the new Harlequin Dare line – lots of heat with a happy ever after – and Katee Robert always knows how to deliver the heat! I really enjoyed the whole set-up of the story – from Lucy looking for a marriage to convenience to all the friends with benefits action she shared with Gideon. It was immediately clear that there was some off the charts chemistry between these two, but I what I really loved seeing just how much Gideon cared for Lucy. I’ve come to expect some awesome sexy times and scorching heat from Katee Robert, but what stood out for me was depth of emotion you could feel from Gideon. There wasn’t a whole lot to the plot, but it was done well. This book was on the short side like most Harlequin books, but there was room for both characters to develop and grow. It was a little bit angsty at times – I’m not a big fan of the “I’m not good enough for her” so let me sabotage this relationship stuff – but there wasn’t too much to slow things down. I loved Lucy’s sister Becka and their friend Roman and will definitely be checking out the next installment in this series. Definitely worth checking this one out!

3.5 stars-predictable but sexy; believability is problematic 3.5 stars--MAKE ME WANT is the first instalment in Katee Robert’s contemporary, adult MAKE ME erotic, romance series, part of DARE, Harlequin’s new imprint focusing on strong women and the men they love. This is corporate head hunter Gideon Novak, and attorney Lucy Baudin’s story line. Told from dual third person perspectives (Lucy and Gideon) MAKE ME WANT follows attorney Lucy Baudin as she becomes desperate in her climb to the top. Up for partnership at the legal firm where she works, Lucy suspects that as a strong, independent single woman she may be overlooked for promotion therefore finding a husband is on the top of her list. Enter her former friend and corporate head hunter Gideon Novak, and the man with whom Lucy will fall in love. While Gideon goes in search of prospective husbands, Lucy has a more personal request of her own-lessons in the art of sexual seduction-from the man himself. What ensues is the building friends to lovers relationship, and the potential fall-out when Gideon realizes he is in too deep. MAKE ME WANT is an erotic, sexy and edgy story about one woman’s desperate attempts to make partner in the firm, and one man’s need to beg forgiveness for sins of the past. Lucy’s last relationship ended when she discovered the man that she loved was having an affair-a man who was best friend’s with our story line hero. Gideon has always loved Lucy Baudin from afar but lost his chance when his best friend Jeff went in for the kill. Hoping to right a wrong from the past Gideon agrees to help Lucy knowing that in the end, he could lose the woman that he loves. The relationship between Lucy and Gideon is a friends to lovers romance; second chances of a sort for two people lost in a world of betrayal and hurt. As their lessons in sexual seduction grow more spontaneous and romantic, the predictable is about to happen as Gideon forces himself to walk away believing he is not worthy of our heroine’s love. The $ex scenes are intimate and intense. We are introduced to Gideon’s partner and friend Roman Bassani, and Lucy’s sister Becka Baudin. Roman’s story line is next in Make Me Crave. MAKE ME WANT is a predictable story line with a foreseeable fall-out for all concerned. The premise is entertaining; the characters engaging; the romance sexy and hot but I have to question why a powerful attorney would stoop to such an arrangement without considering the possibility of falling in love- the believability is problematic.

The feminist in me rebelled at the setup of Make Me Want. The author has a talent for creating strong heroines who hold their own, so I trusted her to make it right. While Lucy Baudin isn’t Robert’s typical heroine, she’s only submissive to the sensual teachings of the hero. And, Lawd, is he ever a good teacher! While I admired his bedroom skills, Gideon and I didn’t get along well at all. He’s too much of an arrogant, controlling alpha for me, and surprisingly, a little whiney towards the end. When you want to smack the hero instead of kiss him, ya know he’s just not the one for you. Make Me Want is an incredibly hot story, which is totally typical for a Katee Robert book. It’s also a quick read and definitely worth adding to your bookshelf, especially if you’re fond of Gideon’s type of hero. 3.5 stars

How do you go about meeting the needs of a client who is looking to find a marriage of convenience, when you love said client? That is the question that arises in Make Me Want by Katee Robert. Lucy Baudin has spent the past two years single. She had a very bad relationship that scarred her in ways that she never thought were possible. She spent four years with her ex who was not a nice guy, constantly berating her and putting her down. She hasn’t been able to feel comfortable in a relationship since. However, she is attempting to become a partner at her firm, and she feels as though being married is the only way that she will be able to accomplish that goal. Gideon Novak has been in love with Lucy for the past six years, and regrets that he is the one to have informed her about her cheating ex. However, he feels that he owes Lucy and will do everything in his power to meet her needs. So he agree to a convenient marriage with Lucy. But when she offers to include sexual assistance as well, will this be too much for Gideon to take on? This was a good book. I enjoyed this short read. I found myself wishing that there was more. I wouldn’t mind reading through the rest of the series to be able to come back and see how things go for these two. Four stars. Nikki, Late Night reviewer for Up All Night w/ Books

Make Me Want is a hot, quick read. I readily admit that it has a ridiculous premise but I enjoyed it and I'm looking forward to reading the next book in the series. ARC provided by publisher through Net Galley

Katee Robert has once again created a sexy romance with compelling characters! Make Me Want takes readers on a wild ride as Lucy Baudin hires head hunter Gideon Novak to find a husband for her and also to help get her groove back. Lucy's ex killed her self-esteem in and out of the bedroom. However, in order to get the big promotion she's gunning for she decides marriage will give her an advantage. That's where Gideon comes in. She knows his history as someone who doesn't have lasting relationships and thinks he would be the ultimate confidence builder. But even after they come to an agreement they can't keep their feelings for each other uninvolved. Gideon has wanted Lucy from the first time they met so he jumps at the chance to spend time with her. The lines blur easily because of their mutual attraction, but it also causes them to stress out over their changing relationship. Make Me Want is a fast paced read told in alternating perspectives. Both characters have distinct voices that make them seem relatable. It's part of what makes this story so easy to read and stay engaged in. Though I wanted to see a bit more confrontation between Lucy and her ex, the connection between Lucy and Gideon was more than enough to make this a well-rounded read! Katee Robert's writing is always flawless, so I was not at all surprised that I didn't want Make Me Want to end! Thankfully, the next story, Make Me Crave, is on it's way! *ARC provided in consideration for review*

This was a fun and sexy story! I love the friends to lovers trope, and this was a new and different twist on that. Lucy Baudin is an excellent lawyer, and she loves her job. But she's managed to lose herself in that job for the last 2 years, following the nasty break-up of her engagement. She's decided she needs to get married to secure partnership at her law firm, as some of the old-timers at the top still have outdated ideas about single women. So, she calls on her friend Gideon for help, though she hasn't seen him in quite some time. Gideon Novak is a headhunter, and he's the best in the business. When Lucy approaches him about using his skills to fill the position of her husband, he's totally thrown. But, he owes her, so he agrees to do it. He also agrees to her additional stipulation, regarding brushing up on her sexual skills. As if any man wouldn't be thrilled to have her as she is. He's had feelings for her for a long, long time. But he's not the keeping kind, and he feels Lucy deserves better. So he has to take what he can get, and keep the memories. He has no idea how hard that will turn out to be. Not to mention that picturing her with another man makes him ragey. Gideon and Lucy's chemistry was off the charts once they got together. I loved seeing their interactions, and watching as they realized that there was no way they could keep things casual between them. They each had their own reasons for the separation of their friendship, but they were so happy to be back in each other's lives, and that helped to blur the lines of their feelings even more. Though Gideon makes a bonehead decision, I like how they both fought for what they wanted, and that it wasn't solely on Gideon to make the move toward making things right. I really enjoyed Lucy's sister as a side character. Her book isn't next, but I'm hoping she'll get one, because I would love to know more about her, and her dating exploits. Gideon's best friend Roman was an interesting character as well, and his book IS next. I'm definitely intrigued by him, and I'm very much looking forward to his story. I highly recommend this book for a quick, steamy read, with well written characters that really make you feel for them. I truly enjoyed it so much.

Ah yes, the joys of dealing with guilt. Friends to not to client? It sounds odd but this is anything but... Make Me Want is a friends to client with benefits book. Or maybe it's a fairytale? He's wanted her forever. She wants his help. Guilt compelled him to do as she asks. Her desire keeps her going back for more. This steamy, lusty affair is going to keep you busy and engaged. Straying from these pages while reading is not likely, no, because Make Me Want does just that. Book received in exchange for an honest review. Reviewed on behalf of Once Upon An Alpha

Wow! Wow! What a fun and scorching little read!! Make Me Want is the first book in the Make Me Series and is part of the DARE line from Harlequin. And let me tell you, this little novella is Hot Hot Hot!!! Make Me Want follows the story of Lucy and Gideon. It is a great mix of a friends to lovers/fake relationship romance and if you know anything about me, you know I can’t get enough of those. From the moment you meet Lucy and Gideon, the chemistry between the two of them is just off the charts. You can’t help but root for these two as they burn up the pages together. Overall, I thought this story was a lot of fun. The plot was very entertaining and I couldn’t help but just devour this book. I enjoyed the characters and couldn’t wait for their story to be told. I thought this story had the perfect balance of steam and romance and was happy that this story had little to no drama. If you’re looking for a hot and sexy read that can easily be read in just a few short hours, look no further and give Make Me Want a try!
