I was given this book by a friend, who recommended it as a fun, quick, but ultimately helpful read. The content is refreshing, inspiring, and easy to read and digest, and the book can easily be read in a relaxing hour or two. If you are not interested in reading lengthy, “preaching”, or scientific self-help relationship books then this book is ideal for you. It is a wonderful “go-to” guide on how to reinvigorate and re-set your long-term relationship or marriage, and I found it instantly inspiring. Making changes to one’s relationship need only start with intention and a desire to make things better, and this book provides the reader with practical, realistic, fun, common-sense tips on how to reconnect with one’s partner, and takes into account the average, normal lifestyle circumstances that we all exist within. What I liked about the book is its to-the-point readability, the sense of realism, and fun, that the book tries to inject into what can be a dry, overly serious subject, and it felt as if the writer had first-hand experience of what she is talking about, making the content relatable. It is the type of book you can keep in your bedside table, and refer to in those moments of relationship lethargy, to re-inspire you with the energy to make effort in often simple ways – things you probably did unconsciously in the early years of the relationship, or pre-children days! I found this book provided me with “kick-start” inspiration to improve my relationship, and it is compact enough that I am sure many male partners and husbands will find it an easy, enjoyable and inspiring read also. And, the ending will make you smile and have a laugh, and realise that taking things too seriously is not the point of life and relationships, no matter what stage you are at in life or within your relationship!
