``There is relatively little specific information concerning herbs and folk wisdom for male health-care presently available,'' writes Green. He's right, and he has succeeded quite well in correcting this perceived lack. There's a wealth of information here on topics most herbal books don't touch--men's sexual and emotional health--as well as discussion of areas of concern for both sexes such as stress and hypertension. Green includes some basic male biology often missing from this type of book. His chapter covering specific plants and their actions and uses is clear and contains occasional warnings. He also explains how to make infusions, decoctions, tinctures, etc. Green preaches a global holistic medicine: that taking care of our planet is necessary for all of us to flourish.
