About the Author

E.H. Reinhard was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He's worked in sales in one form or another for the better part of eighteen years. Previous nine-to-fives include retail management, the auto industry, operating a small business, and running an assortment of entertainment websites that generated tens of millions of page views per month.

Reinhard currently has one completed thriller series, the Lieutenant Kane Series, which follows the life on and off duty of a fictional Tampa homicide lieutenant--though if the stories were reality, I think anyone who worked law enforcement and encountered what Kane did would be turning in their resignation. Throughout the story arc of the six-book series, you see Lieutenant Kane go toe-to-toe with some of the most twisted, homicidal, and downright ruthless adversaries imaginable, all while doing his best to juggle his often-turbulent personal life.

Reinhard's current work in progress is the Hank Rawlings Series. Hank is pulled from the Lieutenant Kane Series and dropped in a new city and new position--agent in the FBI's serial crimes homicide division. Hank's new job description is simple: track down serial killers and bring them to justice. Hank's work will find him face to face with the most dangerous and demented people to ever walk the earth.

Reinhard now resides in sunny Tampa, Florida. When not putting pen to paper, or keys to keyboard, writing thrillers, he is an avid fisherman. So naturally, moving to the fishing capital of the world was a good fit. If you're looking for him, he can usually be found on a boat, canoe, or casting from shore.

I hardly ever give a book a five star rating. I give a lot of fours, but fives, nope. I almost gave this 219 page novel four stares, because it is first person and I detest first person, but the book was so good, it got five stars anyway. It is a rathrr violent, gory, police mystery. For adults. Recommended. AD

I really like this book. It grabbed my attention from the very first and kept it until the end. It reminded me somewhat of the "Prey" books by John Stanford. I love those books. The characters were interesting but  without long drawn-out descriptive pages. I will definitely look to read more of his books.

The author really did a great job in bringing the characters to life. I truly enjoyed this book. What is done to these women is something you just don't see in other detective stories. Great character building. This is going to be a fantastic series!

By page 30 the spelling and grammar errors were so numerous that it was annoying. Add to that how poorly the story was told, and it became impossibly lacking in even entertainment value. This writer needs a good editor and lots of proofreaders before daring to charge for his future works.

Malevolent is a police procedural, book 1 of a series, featuring Homicide Lieutenant Carl Kane and set firmly in the Tampa, Florida area. Carl is a bit disheartened, recovering from a painful divorce, feeling pressured by the day to day viciousness of his job, the soulless perpertraters of murder and the near daily look at decaying bodies. Not in a good place to become introduced to what the press will soon be calling the Psycho Killer. That's his life, however. He has to get over it and get to work. Even a jaded homicide cop finds he can be shocked by the depth of depravity this killer is capable of. Karl finds himself hip deep in the case, sleep deprived and always just one or two steps behind the Psycho Killer. And with victims number 4 and 5, the case becomes very personal. I received this novel free from Digital Book Spot. Thank you!

Good mystery from two viewpoints, killer and cop. Not my usual read with all the gore, but the style and pace and characters kept me turning the pages.
