Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Jody Little
Mallory McDonald does not understand why her brother is spending so much time with his girlfriend, nor does she appreciate that her brother does not allow her to hang out with them. When Mallory's parents go out of town for a week and leave Mallory and her brother with a babysitter, Mallory decides to do some detective work and find out what her brother and girlfriend are doing together. The babysitter encourages Mallory to leave them alone, but Mallory cannot do that. She is far too curious. Since none of her friends will help her, Mallory tries reading her brother's e-mails. She eavesdrops outside his room. She does some on-line research. She even writes a letter to an expert. When Mallory's snooping is discovered, she learns an important lesson about the need for privacy and respecting one another's space. Fans of the "Mallory McDonald" series will enjoy this newest installment. Like the other Mallory books, the author uses extras like games, e-mails, recipes, and stories to vary the narration. Simple line illustrations assist in breaking up the text as well.
