Overview

After being asked for decades to share her Persian grandmother's treasure trove of ancient remedies, beauty and wellness expert Firozé Salimi has finally penned a book. NAME OF BOOK HERE is the much-anticipated compendium of healing salves, tonics and elixirs handed the Iran-born Firozé inherited from her extraordinary Mamanjoon.

Handed down by many generations of wise women, the homespun recipes have been lovingly collected by Firozé who has shared them with her clients for many years. The many time-proven ingredients used in the recipes include turmeric, pomegranate, roses, lavender and even sweet potatoes. She offers treatments for conditions including acne, ear infections, psoriasis, headaches, diabetes, and dandruff. Beauty regimens – from exfoliants to masks -- help with all manner of concerns such as under-eye puffiness, wrinkles, hair loss and dull and over-pigmented skin.

About the Author

From an early age, Firozé was groomed to be a part of the fashion and beauty world. Raised in London and Paris, by her mother, a professional nutritionist, and naturalist, and her sister acclaimed Iranian actress, Vida Ghahremani, Firozé gained a unique and practical perspective of natural products and glamour. In 1978, Firozé moved to the United States to work as a model. After moving to New York City in 1980, she found her real love was working behind the scenes at fashion shoots. There she found herself giving advice to models and actors, who consulted with her about their nail and skin care. Much of the advice she gave was based on the treasured book of remedies left to her by her grandmother, a well-respected educator and healer known widely in Iran.Encouraged by her growing roster of celebrity clients, Firozé opened her own salon in Manhattan. After working as a hand and nail product consultant for Cutex and L'Oreal, she developed her signature line of organic nail products for mass distribution in 1999. Some of her clients have included Cher, Heidi Klum, Kim Catrell, Cindy Crawford, Angela Basset, Ed Harris, Uma Thurman and Oprah Winfrey.
