Overview

Manacle (MC Sinners Next Generation, #3) by Bella Jewel

I’ve loved Danny since I was five. He’s loved me longer. It seemed destined that we would be together, it seemed like the stars had aligned. Then we grew up and life got in the way. He’s stepping up to be president of the Motorcycle club we grew up in. And I want no part in it. I want to be free, to travel the world and experience life without violence. He’s not willing to give up the club. I’m not willing to be an old lady. But giving him up is like losing a part of myself. Love isn’t easy. Life certainly never is. The manacles he has wrapped around me will hold me to him. No matter how hard I try to run.

I hate Skye, what a whiner. Danny's not much better. And can we please, please, please stop with the pregnancy storyline - it's overdone and frankly boring. And what's with romances where the two lovers aren't even involved for most of the book??? Want to give it 2 stars but Ms. Jewel is too good of a writer.

Let me say that I love the men in this series...it's the women I am having a problem with. Where are the strong, bad a** women at? Did their daddies spoil and protect them too much growing up? Just wish the young females had a backbone like their moms did.

I love, love, loved this book. It is so full of emotional ups and downs. I could feel their pain. I could not put it down once i started, as usual the book ended way too soon for me.

I have been wanting to read about Danny for forever, but I was a little disappointed about how the story progressed. All the back and forth between the 2 characters, very annoying. Other than that it was an enjoyable book.

“Some people believe there is only one love in this life. Others believe you can find multiple people to fall for and be truly happy. Some believe in love at first sight, and others think that’s a load of crap. I’m somewhere in between. I believe we all have three loves.” So, the prologue itself told me I was going to be in for a bumpy ride. It was right. Skye and Danny have been in love for as long as they can remember. But as they began to grow up, Skye knew that club life wasn’t for her. Danny knew he was going to be the president. So, Skye ran; ran from her heart, ran from her family, ran from her fears. Ultimately all she did was create a whirlwind in which she would eventually get caught when she acknowledged her heart. My heart broke in this book. It’s hard to tell you exactly why without telling you why, but life for these two was not easy. Making such tough decisions will always have consequences, even ones you can’t quite come to terms with. And when your happiness is so intimately entwined with another’s, it’s difficult to truly understand how far your hurt can reach. I identified a lot with Skye’s thoughts and feelings. She broke me as I read-literally broke my heart in two. I had to stop and just cry for all the pain that was floating between everyone that she touched. It hurt so much because it could have been prevented. I was disappointed that it took her so long to realize and acknowledge her part in all of the unhappiness in her life. Props to Danny, though, for always laying it out-even when it gutted him to do so. And even when it gutted Skye for him to do it. This was an excellent read. It gave such a real perspective on life, love, and how it all can get mucked up when run from our hearts.
