Khai Allen is a young and dangerously impulsive therapist, who has a problem making rational decisions. He seems to have everything—money, education, a promising career, sex, and a mildly dysfunctional family. However, he cannot seem to shake the feeling that something is missing.
Plagued with countless sleepless nights and recurring nightmares of an unknown origin, Khai turns to a life of meaningless hookups with strangers to cope. After falling for Terrence, a former escort and addict turned married man, Khai finds himself resorting to drastic measures to keep their toxic love affair alive.
"I mastered the art of suppression. It is my armor. Without it, I get irrational. I get reckless. Things get broken. People get hurt. Relationships go up in flames, and when the dust settles, I curl up in my closet in a fetal position with eyes full of tears and whisper to myself, look what you made me do!"

About the Author
Darrell C. Scott is Houston native and proud owner of a Jack Russell. Before finding his calling as an American LGBT author, he got his start as a ghostwriter. Darrell has ghost written projects for renown Psychiatrist and outpatient mental health practices in the Houston area, including B.E.S. Group and Associates, Mosaic Magazine and Tranquility Behavioral Health Clinic. Currently, he sits as the Senior Medical Writer at Tranquility Behavioral Health Clinic, in Kingwood Texas.
He has been writing for as long as he can remember, having written his first book at age 12. It wasn't until his freshmen year in college, that he realized that his love for writing could also be turned into a career. Coming from a family of healthcare/medical professionals, Darrell struggled to follow his passion for storytelling.
"Everyone is expected to go into the healthcare/medical field in my family. Being a writer is not a practical career choice in my family's eyes."
Per his parents wishes, Darrell spent his first few years of college pursing a nursing degree and attended nursing school for one year, before deciding to drop out and pursue his passion.
"I was miserable all of the time and often anxious, given the intensive nature of being responsible for another human being's life! It just wasn't for me. I spent most of my time conjuring up stories and wishing I could be writing rather than studying. I realized that I chose the practical route out of fear. Somewhere along the line, I decided not to let fear keep me from finding my happiness and did what was best for me."
Darrell went on to major in creative writing at the University of Houston-Downtown. He got his start as an Urban Lit ghostwriter, but is now ready to write whatever story he wishes to tell. After 3-years of determination, "Manstress Diaries" is the first story to carry his name.
