This book mainly describes anesthetic techniques, problems, and treatments of common orthopedic procedures. There are case studies related to complications. Moreover, there is a step-by-step description about the major surgical procedures. A few chapters are about predisposing diseases, like collagen disease, sickle cell disease, congenital muscular dystrophy, etc. The chapter on treatment of acute and chronic pain deserves commendation. This book is intended for anesthesiology trainees and practicing anesthesiologists. The author has tried to describe almost all the common orthopedic procedures, anesthetic techniques, and anesthetic problems with case reports. There are enough practical tips and scientific knowledge to be beneficial to both practitioners and residents. The author has written this book mainly for residents in anesthesiology and for practicing anesthesiologists. However, this book will be very useful for medical students and orthopedic residents. The author is a credible authority in this subject matter. This book helps the reader to understand the surgical technique and provide anesthesia. The illustrations are sufficient. The pictures, especially those on nerve blocks, are excellent. The book may need more references. The table of contents is adequate. The case reports on complications are an added feature. The overall appearance of the book is acceptable. I believe this is an excellent textbook for residents and practicing anesthesiologists.
