This collection of four fully illustrated maps (Lord of the Rings artist: John Howe) and the history of them is amazing. Each map is a few square feet containing a different section or time of middle Earth. The maps are Beriland, Middle Earth, The Hobbit (Bilbo's travels), and Numenor (the map that, though very plain I think is the most interesting. All four maps are brightly colored and can be looked over four hours. I have know doubt in your being satisfied. Truly inspirational and a must buy.

I bought this knowing that I was going to enjoy it very much. The maps are very, very detailed and the book that comes with them are very fun to read. I would reccomend this for any Tolkien fan.

This is a great collection. All of the maps are large, in full color, and very detailed. It also comes with a book explaining each map: the story it goes along with, the places, and basic history. Reading the book by itself kind of gives you a snapshot of all Middle Earth and its History in one small volume.

Mr.Howe and Mr.Sibley did an outstanding job on these two wonderful pieces of art! Howe definately showed his talents on the four maps which contains not just the lands and places with great, glowing detail but also with great illustrations surrounding them (like a border kind of). Sibley writes about all four maps in great, great detail. He tells what each exact river, town, mountain range, and whatever else is drawn on the maps are. And not just that, he tells a lot of the history and how the lands came into being and of the major characters associated with each, like Elerond and Galadriel in Beleriand (one of the maps). If you truly enjy Tolkien and get into to it so much as to have a big copy of the map to look at while your reading, I request these great (folded, big and could even be framed!) maps.

These maps are amazingly done and beautiful. They make understanding where things happened and why they did in both the Lord of the Rings and the Hobbit far easier. Highly reccomended.
