The first chapter got me hooked. I wanted to know more about Kara. Kim creates a world I would love to be in, a world full of angels. Kara is a rookie who learns the ropes through David, her mentor. David is so much fun to be around; it's hard for Kara not to have these feelings toward him. Their task is to save a person's life, but they find themselves fighting demons instead, and unable to fulfill their assignment successfully. Later, they found out that Kara has been marked from both sides. The twist and turns of the story captivated me that I couldn't put the book down. The ending was unique and different. I was pleasantly surprised. I hope there will be a book two because I enjoyed the chemistry between the two main characters. This well-written, entertaining, original story was so much fun to read, I would recommend it to all readers.

I downloaded this book because I loved the cover, and the description intrigued me. What a fantastic and very original story. Who knew in the afterlife monkeys operated the elevators! Kara is a wonderful heroine that everyone will love. The story is beautifully written and action packed. A fast paced adventure of good versus evil. You won't be disappointed.

Kim Richardson's imagination blew me away. Marked - is a `rollercoaster ride' of a book - It's bizarre and weird, funny and clever. This is an inventive, witty, page turner of a book. With some great characters and set pieces. I can't recommend it enough. You HAVE to get this book!

This book is a incredible read. It got me hooked on the first page. I love the whole idea of souls and reincarnation and stuff. You enjoy the amazing world they live in and enjoy the main character. This is one of my fav! :) i reccomend this to anybody who likes a good fantasy/adventure.

Excellent author! Read all three books in the series one after the other non-stop in just a few days. It is a fantasy based on a war between angels and the adversary. Not at all like Harry Potter as someone stated in their review. I felt like I did when I first saw Star Wars back in the 70's, as I read this powerful book. But instead of eating pop corn during the fast action parts I just just read on fast mode. This series would make an excellent film. It surprised me that I enjoyed it so much being that I hardly ever read any fighting/war books. I don't care much for violence but it was uplifting and the sweet/nice way an innocent first love was handled between teenagers was extremely well done and realistic. Can't wait until the fourth book comes out!

Overall, Marked: Soul Guardians did captivate me with its humor and swagger. Though I wasn¿t impressed with some factors of the story, I would never hesitate to read the sequels because honestly, at the end of the day, I still want to follow Kara and David in the ride full of mystery and thrill. And last but not least, the spectacular ending had made me to reflect on my own déjà vu moments, which is quite fascinating matter-of-factly.

Dont understand the rave reviews for this book! I am on page 160 and i dont know if i can take any more. There has been no plot or character development and it has alternated between boring and ridiculous. Ugh!

I read Marked, and then the other 3 books in the series, in one week. The books take you on a journey of the mind, a book where good versus evil in epic porportions. The character are described and built so vividly that you feel you know there souls and feeling. Bravo, and I anxiously awate more to come in this series. Christalynn

I started reading this book while during the long drive home from Fargo over Easter. The drive has never past so fast. In two states I practically finished the book, about 6 hours. (I drove the state of Minnesota because my husband had to work in the car for a while, so I was minus four and a half hours of reading time!) I was hooked from chapter one. Could not put it down, and have already purchased the next book. I loved how the book began and ended in the same place, in time and location. It made the story feel complete. However, it was still obvious there was legitimate room for another book. Sometimes sequels occur when the story feel done, but that is not the case with Marked. The characters had realistic emotions for being "dead". Another detailed the Richardson did that I highly enjoyed was having the angels and demons with emotions and not physical responses of a mortal, like breathing blood pumping for flushing etc. The details were thought through and really helped to painted a complete picture. Personally I believe angels and demons must have emotions as written, because they have free will like us. Lucifer became a fallen angel because of ambition, pride and greed. Emotions. Like I have already said, I greatly enjoyed this book. If i were to say one thing i didn't like it would have been the primates controlling the elevator. I understand why they are there as a character, but not my favorite. I blame this on an experience I had in the zoo when I was little. A gorilla charged me and broke the glass. I don't do monkey houses anymore.

I got the first book free but after reading it, I had to read the rest. The entire series was an easy read, meaning you really didn't have to think or absorb what you were reading. I read the entire series in under 3 days. Predictable in spots but enjoyable nonetheless. Only issue I had with the entire series was typos. That's a pet peeve of mine anyway! Warning: If you read one, you have to read them all.

I absolutly, pisitively LOVED this book. Kara reminds me so much of myself and how I would handle things. David is the kind of guy that you want to have around and is hard not to fall for. The way the writer tells about "Horizon" is just amazing. I mean I would love to make a visit there. The story is just so unexpected that I wonder where she got all of the ideas. The writer thinks of things that are so out of this world. I mean, birds driving flying cars in the air (because they fly), monkeys controlling elevators (becauase they climb). Just what an amazing book. I read alot of free books, but this one was by far the best. I cannot wait to continue on in the series. For anyone thirteen and over this book is a must read. I say thirteen because it does have a little cussing (not too bad) and a kiss. I am fifteen and just love the book, though. SO READ THE BOOK, it is even free. :-)
